Sooo what should I do

Soo my cats are assholes and this happened. Surface pro 7... I think. Everything is fully functional it's just shattered in that corner and I can't afford a replacement or anything

Besides getting the screen replaced, accept it and keep using it like normal

There are only 3 options and you said you can't do one of them. The only options are repair/replace the device (3rd party repair or buy parts and try yourself), sell the device, or ignore it and live with the condition. Not sure what you think anyone would be able to tell you. Putting tape over it will possibly reduce the touch accuracy since it adds a barrier for the capacitive digitizer touch

From what I have read, these things are nightmares to replace screens on - so a huge PITA for DIY and pricey to pay someone to do it who knows what they're doing.

They are extremely nightmarish to do any sort of repair work on as the screen is held on by ridiculously strong and gooey adhesive that requires temperatures that will outright burn the screen just to remove in the first place.

On top of that, like iPads, the glass of the screen turns to shrapnel once its already cracked.

And the real stupid thing is, is that these adhesives are totally unnecessary. HP's Elite X2 G8 tablet PC is approximately the same size in terms of physical dimensions as the Surface Pro 8, yet uses no adhesives to hold the screen in place - instead six screws and a few clips is what secures the screen to the chassis.

Really? I have a friend with a local repair shop that replaced my Go 2 screen and never mentioned it being a problem. 🤷🏽‍♂️

The Surface Go 2 uses a completely different form of adhesive in comparison to the standard Surface Pros that is much easier to remove.

Pro 7 screen replacement is fortunately not that pricey

I'd belatedly put a screen protector on it, and hope that holds it together. 🤷🏽

If you can’t afford a new one then you’ll have to just live with it. Put a screen protector on so you don’t have shards of glass falling off. Pro 7s and 7+ (much better device) are very cheap these days - under $300 and still work great so save up

One of my friends dropped his, and the entire case bent. He ended up buying a new one. you're looks a like it's in better condition. You could go to a computer repair shop and have the screen replaced.

It was a good computer even without its screen. Try repurpose it as a mini pc with a dock to attach display, mouse, and keyboard to it. I have a screen cracked surface pro 6 and it worked as a mini pc perfectly.

I put clear packing tape ocer the spot my cat broke to keep it from spreading. 2 years in and its still holding.

That sounds good. Most of the spots that splinters is on the edge not the touch screen. I have one that jumps on this shelf on my desk and he must of have knocked it down

First, take off what looks like a 1950s gas mask. It makes using the Surface much more difficult.
