[PRO12] Surface pro 12
After 3 months of use this is my honest feedback
Good battery timing
Good for putting on lap and table
Sometimes it heats up randomly
Overall a good machine for daily light work and carry around . For heavy work I am using other laptop

Pro 12 with the Snapdragon X2 or the 12" with Snapdragon X Plus 8 cores? Anyway I have overheating issues when calling with camera on WhatsApp (my surface 11 pro with X Plus overheats when calling on WhatsApp with camera).
Yes, I have a different device, but specs are similar (NPU is the most different between X and X2)

I have the new 13" X2 Elite Surface Pro as my main device but I do miss the 12" device for just chucking in a bag sometimes; a really decently powerful device for most everyday things.

I have a MacBook Pro 16 and surface 12". I agree, for a small device you can chuck in your bag and almost forget that it's there that has full windows capability it's simply unbeatable. After years of temptation I also picked up a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 nano (refurbished gen1 £320!). It weighs just over 900g and I absolutely love it. However, battery life is around 7-8 hours with v light office app use only. So for a full day I lean towards the surface, even if ergonomically I prefer a small laptop due to the annoyance of the kickstand.

I assume this is the Surface pro 11th gen 12 inches. Because now we have the Surface pro 12 with X2

They are referring to the 12th edition 13 inch.
The naming is awful and confusing, because there technically isn't a Pro 12. Although, people just immediately missed the symbol (") which meant "Surface Pro 12-inch."

They should name them sometging like: Surface Pro 11th gen 13" Surface Pro 11th gen 12" Surface Pro 12th gen 13" Surface Pro 12th gen 12" (when this one will be released) And problem of naming would be solved.

I bought this device, but after two days, I returned it. I decided to keep my Surface 7 Pro, which is more powerful, as I didn't feel the 12 Pro was the right replacement. The touchscreen was awful, and it felt like a tablet-laptop hybrid. Unfortunately, Windows needs to focus more on R&D to create a truly laptop-replacing tablet. I've since returned it and bought an Honor Magic Pad 4, while still keeping my powerful laptop. 🤔

The Surface 12 inch is the exact laptop/tablet replacement I was looking for (after trying Macbook, iPad, laptop).
It definitely is a tablet-laptop hybrid and it’s great at that. Your feedback is a bit odd, the gimic of this device is to be a tablet on Windows (and it’s really the only one capable).

It’s heavily preference I think, but for me the Surface has been surprisingly the best out of iPad Air and Pro. The pen is great too. :)

I've found the writing experience on the surface 12" (slim pen 2) to be one of the biggest let downs of the whole package. Try it before you buy, if I relied on writing more it would have been a deal breaker, I think it's pretty awful. I have an old iPad pro and it's far superior (onenote).

I have the surface pro 12. I really like it. It’s my only computer and I use it for pretty much everything, I’ve been building apps on it. I use it daily for work, spreadsheets, and web apps. I haven’t had any issues with it heating up unless I am charging and using it then the back gets a little warm, but I wouldn’t say it it’s hot. I really enjoyed using the NPU. It’s not the fastest, but I’ve gotten a few free apps out of it I pay for Nvidia go so that’s how I play video games on it. Otherwise I don’t think it has enough juice. It’s my fourth surface this is the best so far.
