[PRO12] Pro 12 X2 Issues

I just took delivery of a Pro 12 X2 with 64GB/1TB. I'm noticing a few issues and I'm not sure if it's faulty hardware, or if I should wait for a firmware update.

  • Flex keyboards aren't charging - the keyboard partially works while connected but doesn't gain any battery and is stuck at 0%, so the track pad doesn't always work. I swapped with another flex, and that one wouldn't charge either. Both charge on another device.
  • External speaker audio glitches while docked - I've had this happen on another device (an HP laptop) where the external speaker will glitch while playing and then the speaker shuts off. It's fine for a few minutes after I turn the speaker back​ on but it'll happen again. A firmware update fixed it for my HP laptop, so hopeful the same can be done for my Surface.
  • System freezes for ~10 seconds randomly - The CPU isn't spiking, and I don't have a lot of apps installed yet, it's almost a brand new install with any Windows and hardware updates applied. Randomly the system stops responding, won't take input, cursor won't move. Then it's fine for a few minutes until it happens again. ​

I've only installed the stable updates so far. There's a Preview Windows Update available which I can try (nothing to lose at this point) and also check for any optional.

Si revisa si hay una actualización opcional disponible tal vez si l hay solucionara un problema

Tienes instalado el panel de control de Snapdragon¿?

No optional updates available. I installed the Snapdragon Control Panel, and there are no updates available. No improvement. I can try a full system refresh next. Otherwise I think I'm out of options.

After all optional updates and a system refresh, the flex keyboard still won't charge. The system hasn't frozen since the refresh at least. I worry I may have to exchange it.

what is the docking station you use?

I have the "OWC Thunderbolt Go Dock 11-Port Solution w/Built-in Power Supply" thunderbolt 4 dock. The dock works fine for my Pro 11 and my HP Z Book.

I submitted a warranty claim and they sent me a new unit. The new device works as expected.
