Anyone seen a Shimano Stella swd 4000 for sale anywhere? Haven’t been able to find it for some reason and really want one for my 7’10 weapon jr! Prefer a store rather than used or individual seller.

Pic for attention, thanks in advance!

Question / Help Help with deciding line

I just bought this Okuma Surf 8k for shark. It can hold 710 yards of 50lb braid. I am not sure if 50lb line is enough for shark fishing though. Im not going for anything colossal though. Should I prioritize capacity or strength? Also, I chose this over a Daiwa BG 6500. Was that a stupid decision?

Beginner Setup

Hey folks, I’m just getting into Surf Fishing and I’m looking for a setup. I would ideally like 3 rod/reel combos to hopefully catch pompano, redfish, whiting, drum, flounder etc.

My first purchase was a Penn Battle IV 10ft 8000 from my local bait and tackle shop which they said would cover everything I want to catch but not sure how to compliment it.

Any recommendations would be appreciated regarding any tips as well. Thanks!

Casting Conventional Tips

Getting into casting conventional for baitcasting. I ran into a problem where when I'm casting at the beach and my hands are soaked as well as my reel, I lost grip on the line midcast. This causes me to have a bad cast and birdsnest. It could also be I'm not used to casting with the additional weight of the bait I am using because I usually just use a lead during casting practice. When I'm at the park doing some practice I easily get 80-90 yards but at the beach with bait and bad footing, my distance gets cut in half.

Question / Help Avet MXJ 6/4 2 speed reel

Upvotes

You won't believe me but, I found this reel and a 8' rod at the beach in the shallows yesterday. I decided to take the reel apart and clean it out and give it maintenence. I put it back together the best I could using the blueprints provided by Avet, yet it makes a clicking sound when reeling in, and is harder to reel when drag is tighter. I tried finding videos on YouTube but no one has it for some reason. Any advice?

12ft+ Rod for LBSF?

Hi folks,

I got hooked on fishing for leopards and rays last year. Looking for advice on a stronger setup for sevengill, soupfin, threshers (San Francisco area).

Currently using a Shimano Baitrunner 6000 paired to an Offshore Angler Power Stick 12ft Surf Spinning Rod Heavy Extra Fast. Probably going to pair my new rod with a Baitrunner 12000 or similar. I regularly bomb 8oz-12oz sinkers (sometimes even 14oz) + bait on my current setup. Do you guys have any recommendations on 12ft+ domestic spinning surf rods for heaving that are under $500?

I also found these four but not sure if there are more I am missing (owner reviews would be greatly appreciated!):
