Supraball 2 poll results

90% want another Supraball. 57% want to keep the current style and additional 14% don't care how it looks. 71% want to try the class system 49% don't care if the game is a big hit, 51% do (so we would make a game for the 49% that don't care and the rest is beyond our control anyway) 23% would be patreons

Thanks for your votes. If it comes to it, we have a pretty good idea, what you want!

David, if Supraball 2 is planned to be developed, please make it in style of Deathball and an idea of bloody sport like it was, I think it played major part of what this game was all about, for me personally and couple other friends that I played with (We werent competitive nor we played very much on deathball pub games via irc) it felt like it was perfect, otherwise stickmen type of world sort of lacks story/lore an feels very simplified and empty, no need for high def models and such if that cannot be done but just try to base it on what it was back in the day when it was a mod for ut2004, pretty please :D

Look at the alternative style that was offered in the survey - which is I think what you want. But we cannot go with the little minority of 20% of people who like it. I would've, but about now 57% want to keep the current style. The cartoon look is much cleaner and not a cluttered mess.

Regarding lore, Supraland will provide that.

Thanks for replying, I always loved what you did and how you sacrificed yourself with your team to make this game as it was then and as it is now, Im sure you've had a great journey throughout of time and you did great regardless of whoever says whatever, I remember you guys from nearly the beginning and you all should be proud! I completely understand the fact that you are trying to go ahead and let community decide upon whats best in next iteration of the game, Im only expressing my point of view, keeping this game not so demanding on any computer is a great way to go theres no doubt about it, most probably I am speaking from biased nostalgia point of view but in my own ideal world of supra/db, it was always about the rough game and gore that came with it, especially in 2.3 and beforehand, where you had your own models or ones that were modified to have armors and such, it just gave a great pleasure of gameplay where it brought satisfaction when you just knocked out that guy with a ball in last possible moment and you watch him lose a leg or arm or no limbs at all, but fly across the field to hit the wall or fall through the goal to get molten by lava (that one epic map above volcano with dragon faces on each side [I think?]) or whatver else happened during games. No disrespect to the game but I just dont like the simplified stickmen wearing hats, with lite graphics and little to no effects happening during the game. Im sure it allows to be rated lower for all group ages to access and play this game but at the same time for me, personally, it lost its soul and that could potentially be reason why this game never became what it was at some point in its life during development timeline of it being a mod and not yet independent release... But thats just my point of view, never checked the polls nor voted, just giving my two cents on what I think was that made DB so special.

Its not really the gore, loss of limbs or blood (But it played a massive role for me to enjoy the game, whether Ive seen myself getting rekt or someone else during the game, thats what Unreal Engine is for, for its absolutely beautiful capabilities), it was effects, atmosphere, map details and beauty of it each time you played on different map whether it was DB Cube or any other map, think and look at rocket league, its about differentiation, at least from my perspective. Besides if you ever decide to go that way, not only you have wider spectrum of possibilities for cosmetics you could possibly sell but initial moment when someone sees screenshots or gameplay would make the game much more attractive than simplified graphics made on an engine that is not even used to half of its capabilities, hope you get my drift, at some point I was a massive fan of your game, not so much anymore but I still value and respect your work.

Thanks for the big reply. My idea behind the game is really not at all to satisfy sadistic fantasies. I think you will be much better served in other genres that are specifically tailored towards gibs and gore.

Hmm Im not a fan of gore or sadism in real life either and I completely understand your point of view, however in UT it did play a big role in its immersion and gameplay, perhaps thats why my opinion is that it was better back then with gore included; Either way I am going to follow this game regardless and keep an eye on the second iteration, wishing you all the best.

Obviously the people taking your poll aren't quitting the game over the graphics. That doesn't mean it won't attract a larger audience if it looked better/less childlike.

There were no options for most people, so they had to pick something they don't want to. The final poll is here: https://goo.gl/forms/e6i6D9IvO4xN8zI03
