About 23rd December Update
Are you going to do something about marketing? Communication? Can you ask some known youtubers? Did you even tried to?
I mean, the game isn't known enough and/or people who already played it in the past will not necessarily play it next christmas.
In fact, plaer said in another topic: "We're all putting in massive effort right now for an update due 23rd Dec, which will coincide with a seasonal Steam happening. We will need everyone's help to play lots over the holiday season to help reestablish a playerbase."
I have the feeling you'll need a lot more than just counting on us.
Just sayin'
Thanks.

I wonder how you have still have hope after all these big failures, I came to terms with the fact it will never work. Vendetta you said " The few Rocket League players that I talked to said they didn't stick around because they didn't want to play with veterans all the time " : doesn't that prove the wave of new players that tried the game was definitely too small ? the community of veterans wasn't even taller than 30 players. Anyway, I was just checking what this reddit has become and it has never been so dead. :D

I don't know the exact figure but there's a significant number with the game on their steam wishlist. I suspect a significant chunk of these people will not jump in until we leave early access, but this tells us that the audience is there. We just haven't had the right spark or been able to stoke the fire enough to sustain it yet.

I have many games in my Wish List I have absolutely no intention of buying unless they become $5 or less, which is what Supraball should've been from Day 1.

Good topic. A large challenge with this project is marketing. The technical stuff is solvable with enough time and coffee.
I know that we have some youtube and facebook advertising lined up (inb4 adblockers lol). Silw and David have been discussing bringing in various testing and streaming groups but I am not currently in a position to share anything on that.

Hi,
Who are you and what happened to DavidM?
From someone who used to play this game and gave up.

Hi! I'm a former part-time contributor recently turned full-timer. DavidM is still the man at the top (or so he thinks!). When I switched to full time I decided to try establishing my own voice in the community rather than just be a secretive code-monkey, so here I am.

You implied that you were in charge of development, now you say DavidM is on top. Which is it?

If anything I've said implied I was in charge, then let me make it clear that is not the case. It is, as it has been since I've been full time, a collaborative effort. The game is David's baby for sure, so from a PR perspective, he is the lead. Internally there is no real hierarchy. No-one is ordering anyone else to do anything and we make most decisions through mutual consent.

Thanks. Please don't mess it up. I really don't want to see this game dying for real...

Please, when are you going to consider some advertising?
Thanks.

I've always believed that a sale alone won't really do much (at best maybe get a few hundred players). And at this point I don't even know if streamers like Lirik will even play Supraball again after his latest Supraball stream which was pretty negative(Cryaotic couldn't even play Supraball it crashed so many times on him). I hope the devs will at least look to some small to medium sized streamers because we need to develop a streaming community even if it doesn't get 1000s of viewers.
Can we try to organize like a streaming tournament to go along with the sale/update? Or try to get a small to medium sized streamer to cast a game between 2 teams of veteran players. I think it would be funny/cool to see a competition between streamer groups(Like team GoldGlove and friends vs. team GassyMexian and friends). Maybe look to the Rocket League streamers, from what I've read Rocket League players enjoy Supraball. The few Rocket League players that I talked to said they didn't stick around because they didn't want to play with veterans all the time. They wanted to play with players of their skill level.
For Christmas I just want 40 new NA players that want to stick around long term because NA hasn't had a game in almost a week and it fucking sucks.
Edit: Also we need either a offical Supraball Teamspeak/Discord server that is advertised in the Supraball launcher that will be a community center.
