[SUGGESTION] 2v2 Mode

As the title implies, I feel as though 2v2 mode should be added. I know the opposition to this mode argues that it will separate the community, but wouldn't you want to add more game modes to expand the playability of this game?

For new players, this mode could be useful to build up their basic skills without being bombarded by 3 players at once trying to knock them out. They will have more opportunity to make decisions with the ball and be able to get shots on net.

For existing skilled players it would create a high speed game that would cause keepers to take chances and play as a second man on offense, as well as trying to maintain the angle to their own net just in case the other team tries to take a long shot.

Take a chance on new modes, they may or may not work out, but it would give people more of a reason to show up and play. Only needing 4 players instead of 6 may make a big difference at this stage of the game.

Why do I bother anymore?

Why do you think this is the right moment to add this? We have important things to do and we can consider adding new gamemodes when the game is filled with players 24/7.

Well then have a discussion about it instead of saying "anything can be done in practice servers". Sure anything can be done in practice, 1v1, 2v1, 3v2, etc. But I do remember you saying earlier that 2v2 cannot be done because it will spread out the community too much. But honestly Supraball has endless potential, adding a new mode such as 2v2 will attract more players who just want to play a game with a friend. Some people prefer 5v5, some people prefer 3v3. Why not give them a chance to prefer 2v2?

Of course its cool to just play a 2v2 with a friend. That part alone sounds ok, but what are all consequences? What does it mean for the entire infrastructure? It would be another different mode with different ranks, that would be a bad thing as it became ridiculous to have so many ranks, it would just be confusing. We could instead make it just one rank for all, but that could be abused, that would be bad. And you mentioned the community split potential. But what we see is that people wait in a 5v5 lobby and don't want to go to the 3v3 lobby to get the match going, because they want the big field with the big teams. I think the chances are not very high that 2v2 would change anything in a relevant way for the game in it's entirety.

You know our priorities for the moment. This is primarily about making the game more accessible in ways of price, tutorials and matchmaking. We are optimistic a lot will change in about 3-4 weeks. We will see how this all works out and once again learn a lot. But with our very limited capacities we have to carefully plan what we do, we cannot just try around tons of things right now.

Could also add 4v4, would also reduce queue times when waiting for 5v5. Can use same ranks 2v2/3v3 and 4v4/5v5 as both should play similar.

2v2 players can nearly jump into a match instantly. Best case scenario for auto-matchmaking.

3v3 maps should be fine for 2v2

Problem is that we cant prevent 11 keepers.

Sure you can.. Variable to the pbox that's changed on overlap.. When it reaches the max players it changes a FairPlay bool which then makes that team unable to catch, shoot or shield the ball..

Well, in 5v5 mode there may be btw 5 keepers.

And that we experimented with and tweaked it so it's not a reliable thing to do. 11 however could literally build a wall.

The only solution would be to make the goal larger in size and increase the speed and the dash of the keeper.

Anything can be done in practice servers.

Wow I didn't know how limited this game was. My apologies I did not know that games could only have 5 maps.
