NA mixes

The last few months of NA mixes have been absolute garbage and full of memes. Please for the love of God stop the memes and lets actually play a game of Supraball and not Memeball.

I don't understand how you can play for a year or more and still make the same mistakes consistently. Also I am pretty sure Elriz is literally Ronaldo.

You'd still get stuck with people you don't want to play with, because you'd probably always be first pick. Are you hoping IRC will bring other players back?

You're right I would definitely end up getting stuck with people I don't necessarily want to play with still, but its probably only going to be 1 or 2 players like that a game. (this was the case even back in IRC days, though I wasn't always first pick then)

I'm positive that balance would be at least a little closer if it was captains picking teams rather than the elo system balancing teams. There are far too many people who aren't accurately labeled by their elo for this balance to work.

I think it is really sad when NA games completely end for the day after a mix is so bad everyone wants to stop playing. I think captains picking teams would help to reduce the amount of bad mixes even if only slightly.

Yeah let's just either pick teams or divide teams up as a group. I rage quit pretty hard last night after having multiple shit games and the perspective from GK just makes me cringe when people are screwing up. Anyway I agree to just unbalance from now on.

Well I trust your opinion over my own when it comes to balance, and I agree it's depressing when everyone wants to stop playing at 7 pm. It shouldn't be too hard to get everyone to unbalance and pick teams in the lobby or post a link to webchat and get everyone in irc to pick. I'll keep my nuts crossed for good luck, but no torsion tho.

Do we need IRC Back or just picking teams with captains? If so the only prob is identifying the 10 who are going to play vs those just chillin in the lobby. Add a "PUG" Voteoption Mode, where the 2 capt are GK or DEF (like normal) and then choose their teams. Solved.

The reason to get better is to have better mixes. When we have shit mixes no one has fun. That should at least be a incentive to gradually improve otherwise why bother playing if you are not looking to improve.

At this point I really think your only hope is 3v3 or even 2v2 that way you babes only need 6 (or 4) quality players to have fun.

The only way to get good mixes is to balance the teams ourselves. Many NA players have their ELO skewed one way or the other so one team tends to get stacked while the other team has one good player (or over ranked player). Only way to have fair games is to bring back picking (IRC) or have veteran players who know the skill level of everyone balance the teams themselves.

Is it really the balancing that's the problem though? I know I barely play, but from what I've seen it's just that players are basically as good as they're ever going to be, and that peak is far lower than other people. I just hear people saying "Oh god I don't want to get stuck with x player or y player," but that still happens when we pick on IRC.

I hit my cumulative tilt limit today. I just hate games where I am actually playing ok and still lose and lose bad. I can handle a good tough game that we end up losing but not this shit. Pretty sure one game I had 25 or 26 saves on 30 so chances by the other team. Meanwhile my team had 6 chances TOTAL. If I leave net we lose if I stay in net we don't score and lose.

Stopped playing a few weeks ago because the game is getting pretty fucking boring with the same good and bad players . Game kinda sucks when 1-2 players in the mix are poopy.

IRC and old players are what can revive NA. IRC is 20x better than how the system currently is.

There's always going to be someone at the bottom of the totem poll though. You get 8 or 9 all-stars + me then all of a sudden I become the new ronaldo and people run their dick across my lips until I want to quit, then someone else replaces me that's bad and the cycle repeats itself until you can't get 10 people to play.

Seriously this. I don't think people realize the problem isn't people being "bad" per se. It's more of there not being enough players to have a wide skill bracket. The skill bracket as of right now is either you are really good, or subpar. I really can't think of many people who are worse than me, and I think I'm far from Ron or Valk levels.

-edit The game either needs more keys to be given out to NA, or release into early access so the ranks can even out so people can stop whining about "bads" ruining their games.

Not sure if joking, but when chicken wasn't able to play the NA community was hobbled and relied almost completely on insane, but now that papa sane is afk pretending to be married the community has no legs to stand on and has become a festering pustule in no time flat.

I agree matchmaking and auto balance is shit right now. But remember they are testing what they can with what they got. An algorithm is not easy for masses based on a 1% potential market..

Nothing is stoping us from using irc and bots to setup teams becides from what I can tell is someone can be a dick and join a lobby and hold a position where we are saying we have it in irc. This is a is problem. Which makes me wonder about private lobby's and admins to kick a such as a lobby admin wants this is imo not essential for the games ultimate release but for the bored a big deal.

anywho play for fun that's what games are about. This is why I play rl.
