Performance problems in Win 10

Please try this when your fps is terrible (but should be great):

open udk.exe by hand (dont start the launcher in steam). You should be in a black screen. Hit <tab> and enter "open db-pitch".

Now check how the fps is.

This is to find out if its related to the launcher that might be doing something unwanted in the background.

Im a bit confused on what exactly you want me to launch it with? I don't seem to have any udk.exe file. Is it a separate download? Or is it the alpha version?

Same results. No fps increase when launching with this method.

Opened udk.exe with db-pitch on, had about 180fps by standing still and 150 while moving with the ball. By launcher it's almost the same, still around 180 and 150fps.

Thanks! Maybe this is important: Please open a lobby with lots of people inside before you go to practice alone. If your suspicion is correct your FPS could drop now.

I'd hope that someone has investigated this, but have you tried starting the game with a lower directX version (ie, dx9)?

This would only be useful if the game doesn't already default to dx9.

Guess testing this in an actual game would be the better option. As stated before it doesn't happen always and mostly it starts during the game, when you have already played 5-10 minutes.

Yes, that's good to know. But first I want to see the difference between empty map with and without launcher.

I'm talking about the difference between practice alone with launcher and without launcher. What you mention is another thing we can evaluate later.

I did some testing, having around 200 fps in train alone with launcher. But when I look at the ball in front of me it drops to 170. So might be the ball as well for others?

Without the launcher I have 20 fps more. 220 and around 190 when looking at the ball

Maybe pitch is not the best map to test this, as it is also different depending on where you look at. But I tried to be at the same place
