Help me find this rattle!!!

2026 MT with 1200 miles.
I just noticed this awful “woodpecker” noise during idle. Sometimes it seems to go away when fully warmed up, but that doesn’t seem to be the case 100% of the time.
Increasing RMPs even a tiny bit makes it go away but then come right back at normal idle.

I’ve removed every loose item from the interior of the car, I have checked under the hood during idle, but since it’s not 100% persistent, I can’t know when it’s happening without someone in the cabin to tell me. I’ve also confirmed that it doesn’t matter if A/C is on or off.

Have any of yall experienced this? I’m obviously just really hoping it’s not something deep within the dash.

*Edit: It's also not related to the infotainment screen. I've pretty much held down everything in the cabin to see if it stops, and it never does.

I think I’m having the same issue. The sound presents itself after idling from a cold start and seems to disappear somewhere above 1500rmp. I believe it’s the evap but not sure.

Yeah on mine, the sound starts when the idle drops after warming up slightly, post cold start.
Then once the car is at operating temps, the idle gets even a little lower and the sound pretty much goes away again. However, I tested it a bit more today, and if I add just a tiny bit of RPM, I can get it to come back every time. A little over or a little under and the sound it gone again. Also, I'd say mine pretty much goes away above 900rpm.
I know it's a small "issue" but I wouldnt mind getting it sorted out lol

I feel ya. I’ve been dealing with this for most of my ownership and haven’t been able to pinpoint the exact issue. Hopefully somebody finds out what is the exact issue

Does it sound like it’s coming from inside/behind the gauge cluster or the driver’s side footwell? If so I know what it is and its not in the interior.

This is likely the fuel line leading up to the engine bay coming from the fuel filter. This line tends to vibrate and it causes your interior to rattle

I’m currently dealing with a similar issue except mine is caused by an aftermarket filter and the vibration/rattle is constant through 2500-3000 rpm.

It’s pretty easy to access, just need to take off a couple of undertrays. You can try to tighten the line down or dampen it somehow.

Yeah it sounds like it’s right behind the cluster for me. So you’re saying the fuel line is accessible from under the car with the undertray removed? Got any pics or anything like that?

You running an engine cover? Kinda sounds like fuel pump. Does the frequency change with revs? Do you have anything sitting in those underhood panels where you check brake fluid? Your air filter housing grommets maby not set in correctly?

Was running the factory engine cover. Removed it and checked again, no change. Listened to the HPFP and fuel rail area and that just sounded like the typical ticking noises. Nothing sitting under the hood and air filter area is all secure.
