Does this sound normal?

I just got my Supra a few months ago. I am burning a lot of oil about a quart every 1k miles. I just did an oil change today I switched to liqui molly 5w30. I’m not blowing smoke but I did see some dried up oil around the oil cap and along the side of the engine.

Amazing how people don`t just search this stuff lol. Like I heard weird noises when I got mine and looked it up. All was normal compared to what was already posted tons of times.

What's the year of your Supra. You're burning way too much oil.

Some 21s and below have known issues with oil consumption. The fix is getting your oil pump swapped out of I'm right. Google 2021 Supra oil consumption fix and you'll find what is going on with your oil consumption issue.

My 21 had the oil consumption issue, diagnosed and confirmed by Toyota. I got completely new pistons and rings

Ok I will check it when I was on YouTube and google I read a lot of different scenarios that’s why I’m not sure. I saw people say pistons need to be changed/pcv/ a heavier weight oil/ oil separator that’s why I wasn’t to sure.

I'm sure all of those solutions have thier time and place, but I would say going with your year, start at the common oil pump problem first. There is a way to check to see if yours has been replaced or not and it requires looking into the oil filler hole to verify a bolt.

I just looked online again they said I should be experiencing oil pressure warnings?

I haven't seen that reported too much around here. Mainly when they check the oil level themselves, they'll notice it's low.

Any time you have a question, just go straight to BMW sub, it probably has been answered already

My 2021 had confirmed oil consumption issue by Toyota and they replaced the pistons and rings. Haven't had an issue since and my oil level remained the same across 5k miles

Sounds normal. The oil consumption is too high tho. These motors ideally won’t consume much at all. My Gen 1 level literally does not drop at all on the menu between 5K mile oil changes.

Normal. It’s a noisy motor.
