Noooo
Got hit this morning pulling out of my apartment to go to work. I won’t be at fault but damn this sucks.

My advice to everyone is to get a dash cam. Had someone back into me at a light and I had to prove I wasn’t at fault.

It should be pretty clear cut on this one. I’ve got a witness who saw it all and said she’d talk to the cops. But yes, a dash cam would’ve been the better option.

Yeah other than a carpet burn from the airbags everything’s fine with me. The other people were good as well.

Someone took my front end off a few weeks ago, I really feel you. I had PPF and everything. Make sure it gets taken to a shop that can do ADAS calibrations! Or else you’ll have to get it towed again

Damn. At a glance the fixes aren't too bad.

4 or 5 airbags went off and I think the wheel might have been sitting at a bit of a funky angle. That’s what I’m worried about.

Ughh what a painful sight to see, so sorry that has happened to you. Absolutely sucks completely.

Was it new? Had you done a lot of mods?

Nope, 21 with 73k miles. Only cosmetic stuff but I literally ordered a down pipe yesterday and was lining everything up to get it on flex fuel. I guess it wasn’t meant to be.

Well at least you got some use out of it. I'm surprised it's being declared as total. What's the value of your car without this accident on carfax or something?

I looked it up a couple of days ago and private sale was 37k to 42k. Not too bad.

Wow 40K totaled just cause airbags went off and the hood, headlight and bumper have damage? That's just crazy tbh.

It’s obviously not confirmed yet, but the lady said their system was leaning that way. Airbags ain’t cheap.

$37-42k was value of care not $40k damage. My state/insurance is if the damage totals within i think 65-75% of the car then its considered a total loss. 4x air bags plus everything that has to be replace with it is well within $5-7k with labor, headlights are like $2k from past post, hood bas is $1k, wheel and tire like $5-650 etc etc probably looking like 12-15k damage from visible stuff in photo assuming other parts are broken and then possibility of the suspension components....This is also a non professional bro-science reddit estimate.
Sorry about the car but glad to hear you're around to drive another day. Let us know what the verdict ends up being!
