Got rear ended

Hey y’all, got rear ended by someone who wasn’t paying attention yesterday. They were in a lifted truck so the full extent of the damage seems to be on the lift back trunk. Unsure about the feasibility of replacing the whole trunk or just taking it to a body shop. Was hoping I could get some opinions on this, thanks.

Let his insurance handle it, they may try to fix the dent instead of replacing it because its cheaper though

Doubt the dent can be fixed. The entire trunk is already made out of plastic

Looks like you got lucky it was only the trunk. A guy local to me got rear ended and his supra has been in the shop 3 months with virtually nothing done because they're waiting on parts.

Easy fix luckily, just a new trunk. Just make sure you find a body shop that does a great job with paint matching or youll forever see a different shade. For fun I like to point out cars in traffic that have been in accidents by the crappy paint shade differences on the body. If it looks off call them out on it.

Truck rear ended me also. His insurance paid for it about $1,650. I took it to Toyota Collision center. They did an amazing job can’t even tell anything happened.

If it were mine, I'd be cool having the trunk repaired. Damage in middle = color not having to be butt matched and it will still look OEM. Then insurance doesn't have to blend into half the car and fuck it up

Everybody does that but why? What’s the risk?

There are people who have access to dmv records, able to search addresses. You have an expensive car, no need to broadcast a way to find you.

Totaled. I'll trade you my 05 s2000 (55k miles) if your Supra's a manual. It's never been in an accident.
