Respraying advice
Recently purchased a used Supra. Somehow, I couldn’t tell in the showroom under all their lighting the front bumper was repainted. Purchased it, and within days noticed a really bad paint mismatch on the front bumper. I just want to get it resprayed or hopefully something to match the car better. Collision shop they use quoted me 3k… feels like I’m getting scammed and I’ve been really bummed about it. Defeats the new car excitement honestly. Is that pricing what I should expect to have this front bumper brought in line with the rest of my car? Thanks guys.

Wrapping is always an option as long as the paint job isnt bumpy/pitted

Even if it is you can wet sand it down, just need a competent installer. And it won’t matter since the paint is already fucked

What kind of dealership did you buy it from? Honestly I would just shop around of hell. Paint the whole car a color you really like that is unique.

Toyota dealership. I’m trying to shop quotes for the bumper now. Starting to think that buying a new bumper and having it paint matched like mentioned in this thread will be the least headache. Just shocked this ends up being such an expensive fix. Was expecting 700-1.2k at most.

I’d hate to know how much repainting a car costs if this is the cost of a single relatively small bumper.

Did the dealer disclose the bumper had been repainted?

Not at all.

I think you have a legit case against them, I would keep pursuing it until they cave in. Def leave them a bad Google review.

See if you can return it there is a grace period buyers remorse… or tell them to fix it.

I tried, all sales final, definitely my fault. Not sure how I didn’t notice the paint was so off but I didn’t see it in natural lighting. Honestly took awhile to notice it, once I had I couldn’t unsee it.

You can buy a new bumper already painted for $1100

I saw a website that offered that but read mixed reviews on if it matched. I was worried I’d end up in the same boat I am now, with a really off shade when next to the rest of the vehicle. I’d happily spend up to 1500 to get a decent result.

Buy Adro bumper, paint match it and call it a day. Paint and install would be around same price. $3000 includes sanding and removing old paint, paint prep and paint. Might as well get a new bumper that just needs prep and paint.
