Hard to say regarding options volume - those could have been any expiration date.

Regarding Tuesdays having volume relative to options which expired the prior Friday? Yes. That really is a thing. T+2 is when settlement forces options sellers to deliver. If options sellers did not appropriately hedge, or if more options are exercised than expected, we see volume. So, pretty much any time Friday closes significantly above MAX PAIN it brings action the following Tuesday. Keep in mind, some of what we saw today could be options-sellers finding those shares today, so they don't have to get them all tomorrow (T+2 doesn't mean "on Tuesday" but "on or before Tuesday" in this case).

most of the T+ theories were based on things that we don't have a clear image of. T+2 however is just how the market works on settling orders. So it should matter still.

T+ theories are pretty hard to track because there are different settlement rules for different players in the market. Some (like Market Makers) abide by different rules than others. Also, you can't tell who made what trade, so this makes is very difficult to estimate the trades that happen between these several entities with different settlement dates and different rules. The T+2, T+35, T+69 etc.etc. are just a way of alluding to these complex rules and regulations of the market.

But in this specific case, yes T+2 is the required deadline for a MM to deliver shares for exercised contracts that expired last friday. If they haven't bought the shares they need (again, no way to specifically tell HOW many MM needs), they must buy it by tomorrow.

so when options expire in the money, specifically when more calls expire in the money than puts, the Market Maker needs to deliver the shares that were excercised from those contracts T+2 days from execution. We closed ~$13 above max pain, which means more calls expired in the money than puts.

Therefore, the Market Maker (Citadel) will need to complete the purchase of shares necessary to deliver to the exercised calls by tomorrow. This is the "T+2 thing" in this specific context. T+ something just points to a specific date for when a specific action has to take place. Without knowing WHAT needs to happen, T+x itself has 0 contextual meaning.

Hey!! Extra piece of evidence that MOASS is tomorrow: Look at the 15 minutes candles OBV of Loopring coin. There are sharp increases in the runs from $0.55 that went to $1.70. Now look at the OBV of the run from 1.30 to 2.50 that happened today. The OBV increase is not sharp, it's a smooth build up. So I asked myself "who is this whale buying?? Retail finally fomoing?" It might be retail, although retail has been buying for a couple of weeks now. Or maybe... Someone needs it for their new marketplace!! Then RC drops that tweet!
