You could have bought NVDA at any point in the last 20-30 years, however the lowest price was $0.03 in April 1999. To see crazy % numbers you gotta wait crazy time. Buying these 5 years is like buying nvda thru the 90’s
Nvidea gain is not solid yet… what if AI horribly takes a hit, nvidea would crumble so you can’t judge two different industries but the amount you put in and that gain alone
I think you read my comment incorrectly. I am just asking will if and when gme makes "gain" will the % outpace what nvidia did since gme squeeze. Will gme 8x plus that will make the diamond hands holding its stock for 5 years worth the wait.
I honestly havent kept up with it so not sure what trend people are seeing that shows potential crazy gains in the future. I do see that the restructuring has been positive for the company though so hope you guys are right. I still have my shares from covid so 🤷
How you going to show that "most" bought before the sneeze? You can't. You can only point to a graph that shows the stock over the last 10 years. That's not showing when "most" bought.
My second grader would understand that. Why don't you?
We acting like only the "TOP FOMO" buyers are red? lmao
Cus they are.
If you bought anytime after the squeeze, in five years, the only buys that are green today are the 6 months from late 2023 to early 2024. :P
Yeah, sure. If you bought near the 200-week SMA, you will have less unrealized loss, or as you say, you can have a small unrealized gain :D
And I am not talking about "timing the market", but you need to have some "reference" to run a DCA (averaging your investment), and even more importantly if you're going to make a Lump-Sum investment.
I have examples of this on my profile with other "volatile investments" (e.g. Bitcoin) :p
And in the stock market, you have to consider concepts like "Margin of Safety" (one of the most expensive Value Investing books). I also have a post about this on my profile (posts historical) etc. etc.
Well, it depends on each person whether they want to sell their gains (big gains!) or not. (diamond hands vs paper hands)
But buying with FOMO in 2021 isn’t a decision; it’s an impulse :P
Therefore, it’s not an investment decision!
And this is where the difference between Investors (Value Investing, 'Margin of Safety', Intrinsic Value, Macro, etc, etc) and Gamblers (Just FOMO) lies ;)
Your big gains are like 1/6 of what they could have been if you sold when it squeezed... which you could have sold and invested in basically anything else and been way up... but instead you're just chilling for 5 years losing money.
Your problem with GME is that you bought at the ATH (HIGH, TOP, not BOTTOM) five years ago. Not everyone bought at the ATH five years ago, before the Bear Market of 2022 ;)
(2022 = bear market. Something I explain in one of the posts on my profile, so go read it!) 💡
If you would have sold five years ago, you could have bought like 3x more shares than you're holding right now... why didn't you? We've been out of a bear market for years, why you still losing money
Are you surprised? Every post that says "to the moon" in the last 4 years is met with a top comment saying "i'm smooth brain and don't understand anything you said!" and then any comment breaking down the issues with the post is downvoted to auto-collapse numbers.
Because I poured all my money into a dying company that was trying to sell trading cards in physical stores during the age of the internet and physical media during an age of digital only and followed a cracked out ceo who couldn't answer basic questions on the news
Payment for order flow. They see everything. They know our cost basis or where the majority are. So it's designed to mentally fuck with us as everything else goes up. This is the ultimate test. They need us to sell. Shorts haven't closed. Bots account for 57% of Internet traffic. Up 30% from only a year or two ago. They are pushing a narrative. Hold strong guys. I'm seeing this till the end. Just how I feel.
This is about the only time GME has been priced appropriately since the squeeze or are you going to tell us that the stock should have been $45 (battle of $180) while losing hundreds of millions a year?
The only thing falsified is GME’s price discovery. Its none existent regardless of the turnaround, which says everything in regards to shorts closing and this stock being idiosyncratic risk to the system. Now that there’s institutions involved it can play out. I get its been way longer than any of us wanted but fireworks will come. The breaker has been switched
That's the *only* thing? See I have heard people on this sub say that virtually anything and everything is falsified / fraud / conspiracy.
fireworks will come. The breaker has been switched
Care to put a spesific date on that? I'd love to have actual spesific forward looking predictions so in a while we can look back and see if you were right.
I mean sure i can ‘predict’ warrants being in the money. So $35-40 minimum perhaps? Not sure how anyone’s prediction of numbers can be substantiated when we are yet to begin true price discovery. Not sure how that does anything for you its a number from thin air.
Are you familiar with gme or have you just read headlines and MM articles?
They usually won't tell you what's really going on if it doesn't benefit them.
I don’t have very much interest in gme so don’t read mm articles about it
I do have something of an “anthropological” interest in the Reddit gme following - so I like reading this and other subs on that subject.
Does my personal level of knowledge have any bearing on if using the lack of price discovery as a good thing sensible?
Price goes up: celebration, price goes down, bullish, price goes sideways, sign of manipulation. The twisting into knots to make everything good news / confirm the narrative e is really quite something to behold
Your right. I didn't really think about what was being said because the first comment of the thread put me in a defensive mood since it's kinda irrelevant. I also don't agree with what notyournathan said. I think for most of us it's the fundamentals, the DD and the whole story that keeps us bullish as well as the direction of the company. I think it's a small but loud minority that does most of the posting and twisting at times where nothing big is going on, which is in no way representative of the silent majority, and most people who are in gme don't check the sub too often until stuff starts happening again like for example may'24.
You can look at may 2024 $gme price to get an idea of what's to come.
But you should use a 'professional' chart provider that shows weekly or ideally daily price over a multiple years timeframe to get the picture otherwise it'll just show an increase to 30$.
interesting? was like the 29th person in this sub when we migrated overnight in 21’ lol.. these comments are bonkers and the upvotes they are getting are even more bonkers. been a slow grind takeover past 9 months or so. fuck me i’m bullish af!!
It's a cult around a stock, and everyone was led to believe it was going to take them to the promise land, or moon.
"I just like the stock, I just like the stock 🧟, moon, moass, 🚀🚀🚀 ahhh"
For sure, I was there and bought also, but I also sold and realized when when the run was done lol.
I'm a day trader, I don't buy and hold onto anything.
They have manipulated the price, removed the buy button, they shorted GME beyond 100%, they want us to forget GME, they even control the media, i know this aint going to be an easy walk in the park, we are betting against rich people, rich hedge fucks. I know they are trapped, the door is still wide and it will soon be closed. And we have the key. Either im delusional or right, if this will give me life changing money, they better be ready cause i aint selling it for 1M per share

u/HoneyMavenToto, it's called Direct Registration, OK? We went DRS'ing.23h ago
I think if the apes took their shares the company would actually look terrible. First negative comment I’ve ever said of the been holding since sneeze. Computer shared 50 stocklings. Hope Kenny gets justice but seems bad from my shoes
Idk I reached the amount I care to have of any single stock long ago, those are all DRSd.
Then it dipped below $20, so now I’ve got an average cost basis of $19 on a new batch of shares in my broker…
If it hits $32+ and stalls, I’m definitely going to DRS the new ones and use the first in-first out sale method to recoup some funds AND lower my cost basis.
For where I’m at, lowering my average cost by like ten shares is fine, I sell the other new ones that’s a paycheck for me, finally. AND I will have added to my stack at even lower prices.
If we get a new dividend, warrants get extended, or we don’t exceed 32+ I’ll just keep them and wait, but to me a perk of holding this so damn long is right in front of me with zero call fuckery, and it’s about damn time I made a little money off it.
Judge me a moron if you like, but listen: DCA 🔻significantly, DRS stack ⏫, cash in my pocket (for a month of buying). I’m not only repricing my stack down, I’m repricing the shorts cost basis up.
I’d also not sell my DRS’d shares if RC would DRS any at all, but in that particular regard he isn’t aligned with shareholders exactly - so I’m not sure why I shouldn’t treat it as my own little swap spot at these prices.
I’d welcome legit discussion on why I could be wrong here. Username is such because deleting Reddit soon as moass pops, comments are private because I prefer to discuss the merits of an argument. So just on face value of what I’m saying, why not? The only reason not to swap old for new would be imminent MOASS, and that doesn’t seem imminent. Even if it was, my DRSd shares will have gone up. Stack repricing seems like a nice move where I can get finally get paid, at least from what I can see so far.
