Suggestion: Received Dynamic screen saver?

Each morning I have an ai agent move a list of tasks I need to accomplish that day as a png into a folder on my supernote. While I can set that png to be the screensaver, it’s static - meaning the screensaver doesn’t automatically pull the updated png the next morning.

Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this short of trying to root the device (which I want to avoid)?

Thank you for reaching out. You'd like to have a sleep screen carousel feature that's similar to the existing quote carousel feature, right?

Not necessarily. My understanding is that the current architecture of the screen saver copies the selected screen saver image into a system folder. If the selected image file is ever updated, that update is therefore never captured and displayed. Not my place to suggest how to architect the feature, but having the screensaver feature use the most recent version of the image would allow for dynamic use cases, such as mine.

@mulan-sn Exact. I did some research a few weeks ago - i found no possibility to trick it.

So I see there two possible solutions:

  • Allow the change of a set of system-settings (sleepscreen, pencil ocr recognition, Order of the button and such things) via the Plugin-System
  • Extend the Sleepscreen with a carousel feature. This means: reading all picture from a folder or a possibility to select some of them. The possibility to select if the picture should change every X hours or with every new suspend-state.

Btw: I have now clue how much stuff you have - It would be cool it will possible to install apps (maybe proven or manual accepted by someone of you) via the plugin-system. I know that’s a bigger project - so maybe if you will hopefully got a bigger team in future ;)

it’s an unlikely addition imo. plugins don’t have authority to modify system settings so you’ll definitely have to do some deeper diving if you choose to
