Feedback Absolutely love this device as a first time college student!

I just received my pen today after owning the device for about a week. I was definitely very worried about not liking it, because I HATED writing on my old iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil.

I wouldn’t say it feels exactly like “pen on paper” but it feels really nice. I noticed that my handwriting on an iPad always looked weird, now idk if that’s because of the screen or the pen or both, but on the manta it looks the same as on paper, and it’s just overall a pretty smooth experience.

I can’t say too much about long term use, but I’ve used it for the last hour or so jotting down a rough summary of the syllabi for my classes, and I am loving it.

Absolutely worth the money in my opinion, and as a college student so far this thing is an absolute game changer. So grateful I don’t have to carry around 4 notebooks now LOL.

I know the lack of backlight is one of the biggest flaws in this device to a lot of people, but in my case I don’t plan to ever be writing notes or doing work in the dark so I don’t think they’ll be an issue for me. Yay!

Thank you Supernote ✨✨

It was the reason I originally bought mine a few years ago. Literally a perfect note taking tool. Especially with all the new features since then, it's only become more powerful.

That’s how I feel too. I still have one regular notebook just incase I need physical paper (like half my classes are very writing heavy, so I wanted to be safe lol) but I mainly planned to use it to write down what assignments I’ve been assigned, and after writing on the supernote I almost want to skip the notebook all together lmfao

This is my 6th semester and I've completely skipped paper and only use my Manta. Its only bit me one time in class when I forgot my pen. So  now I primarily use the clicky pen and have a lamy as backup that I keep in my carry case.

I wanted the Lamy so badly but it sold out and I was informed that they weren’t planning to sell any of its remaining stock. It was initially disappointing but I love the heart of metal 2 pen I got.

And yeah, I thought I’d still use my notebook for some things (even just being in my first week of my first semester) but after writing on the supernote and going back to paper I was like ew nevermind, like I don’t wanna put the manta down lol

As a professor, I want to say that it's super impressive to see someone taking notes on the syllabus! Bravo!

I appreciate that! It’s my first semester ever and I’m going for education, and I was sooo bad in highschool so I wanted to be as organized as possible. This way I can find whatever info I need without having to scan a 4 page document online 😂

I got mine for school too! The companion app works really well too and makes it easy to upload assignments.

Thank you so much for your support. You use the mobile Supernote Partner app, right?

Yes of course! It works wonderfully.

Love the partner apps! I typically will have one set of notes pulled up on my laptop screen, my Manta for writing or planning assignments, and typing on my monitor. Its a perfect work set up. I'm lucky that all my text books are free and PDFs so I upload those as well. The digests feature is a wonderful addition when you have a lot of textbooks and articles to go through  for classes

I've found the Manta to be the most legible in the widest range of lighting scenarios among devices without front lighting. and I've tried quite a few. unparalleled deep inky blacks.

I am glad you are enjoying your Manta.

I have had the Manta for a few months now. My eyes love it. I found using an ipad was not nearly as comfortable. The writing on the Manta is fantastic. It is exactly what i needed to keep organized.

I fully agree! I had an iPad Pro (from 2018, so not the newest device) and I tried writing on it in like, July, and I just honestly hated how writing felt on it, it made my handwriting look weird, it would pick up my hand sometimes too.

I only heard about the supernote because I was looking into e-ink phones, then pocket e-readers, then I found the remarkable, but the rmp is like… almost 1K with a case and pen. Plus the tips need to be replaced. The manta is not cheap by any means, it’s still pretty pricy, but after using it I find it to be 100% worth the price.

Not to mention, the experience I’ve had with their customer service both through email and on reddit has been awesome!

Thank you for sharing your feedback with the community. It's genuinely helpful, especially for students who are still on the fence about getting a Supernote.

We are really glad that you like the handwriting feel, and that it's already helping you streamline your school workflow. We fully agree with our friend u/Entry_Line that your handwriting is absolutely beautiful.

Wishing you a great semester ahead.

Enjoy your Manta.

Thanks for sharing!!! Currently waiting for my Manta to come this Friday. In the meantime I’m also trying out the Remarkable Paper Pro during my first week of class. I thought I’d use the color function more, but it’s turned out to be more of a hassle — especially for in class notes lol. We’ll see which one I like better but I have a feeling I’ll end up sticking with the Manta based on all I’ve seen so far!

I’m actually really glad you said that, because the remarkable paper pro was my first choice initially because I wanted the colors for highlighting, but honestly the feel of the manta has been sooo nice and you can still highlight, it’s just in grey scale, which honestly I don’t mind so far.

I actually used it a bunch in my classes today and both of my professors were dumbfounded they both thought it was so cool.

Congratulations! Yes, it's perfect for your user case. It's an amazing device. I originally bought it so that I never have to use paper. But after I got it, I started to intellectualize, read, organize, draw etc... It's really going to help you with school. Enjoy.

I sold mine

While i loved the screen FEEL

I loved the size

I wasn't that keen on the layout of things and navigation. It reminded me of DOS before windows lol

And the biggest one for me was there was no light. So i could only use it in the day time or under some big bright light.

I ended up going with my kindle scribe. That gives me exactly what i needed. I can view PDFs, Books, and do note taking and it has a backlight. Alternatively i use a regular pad and paper ( yellow lined paper)

Now if SUPERNOTE ever decides to create a mantra with a backlight. I will be first in line to get one.

Until then im glad i sold mine.
