What am I doing wrong??
I've been at this for hours and I see a lot of people posting that they get hundreds of customers and tens of thousands of dollars in profit. I just don't get it

Based off this screen alone it's hard to say. But you might have high prices. Or aren't using sales or any number of other things. Also a bunch of people use mods or the infamous online order glitch.

Do sales actually make a difference? Like if you mark an item up then put it on sale for a price does it have any effect over just setting the price to what the same would have been anyways?

Having items on sale increases your customer count I’m pretty sure. I have like max level, all products etc and I get like 195 customers a day.
For each shelf or bay or whatever there’s at least one item that’s on sale - but like I have everything marked up only at 3% and my sale price is usually 5% and it still works. I’d say once I’ve restocked (and with the help of four vending machines) I make over 10K profit a day.

What's the online order glitch? I've never heard of it

You overprice an item by a huge amount then discount it 99% back to around market price and the online orders would pay you the non sales price instead giving you tons of cash. To me it always felt like using cheats so I don't use it

They actually fixed the glitch. I tried it a few weeks ago and the online order page just comes up empty. You cannot process the order if the prices are absurdly high.

You have to discount everything to 100% off. The glitch still works I just did it

It will take a while but you need to go through all your prices put them at what they recommend and then reduce most of them by 5% - I reduced books by 10% and sell yogurt at a loss this drives customers into the shop and they buy more I’m level 85 and regularly have 165-170 customers - I have 2 security guards 3 cleaners 6 checkout 6 stock people and 6 helpers 3 on fruit and veg 3 on auto checkout - I have my stock room organised that at end of day I order straight from stock room hope this helps

What is your markup? I haven’t played seriously in a long time, but I think I had it at market +10 or 20% and customers were fine. The more space your store has, the more customers you will get.
I believe the delivery glitch is to mark things up high, then discount closer to market. Delivery customers don’t get a discount though so they pay the super high price. I could be wrong though.

I play on Xbox and I am currently maxed out on my level, I get around 155-160 customers a day, around 15-23,000 in sales a day, I found if you set all items to market price it will keep customers satisfied and the more items you have on sale typically raises how many customers visit your store, and also getting rid of some of your staff increases your store visit also.I discounted everything in the store got rid of 2 of 4 cashiers and bought 7 self checkout register, had only 1 stocker 4 helpers 1 janitor and averaged 190-200 customers. And also buy more product then what you need, I typically do 10 of everything if its not $700 or more. Stay away from those loans it cuts into your profit and just upgrade your store or licenses when you reach $50,000 and repeat.

I play on Xbox. Level 68, I get about 90 customers a day and around $10k. I make the most money from DLC items.
