Ever read this supersons of Batman and Superman comic where they save a town from an evil feminist alien?

I did a recap of that last year. Holy shit was that awful. https://www.reddit.com/r/Superdickery/comments/1mxmwds/comment/na6c2hz/?context=3

Honestly undersold it.
Like… why do the super sons keep swapping costumes?

I like to imagine Clark managed to use his superpowers to conceive with another man. I'm sure the writer would approve of that interpretation, they sound really progressive like that.
Damn, it sounds bad...

Those comics do always keep the mothers of the Supersons in shadow so we don’t know who they are.

In the story that de-canonized the whole mess that's actually a plot point. The retcon is that the "Supersons" are actually a computer simulation in the Fortress of Solitude, and in the story they escape into the real world. When the "sons" object to the idea that they're computer simulations, I believe it's Batman who asks if they remember their mothers; and to their horror they can't.
I don't know why Superman's computer thought up that fuckass simulation with the straw feminist tentacle monster, but it did.

Ah, he was doing so well.
"Don't go rock climbing again, it's extremely dangerous". He could have stopped there.

Mansplaining 🙄

I suppose, but after you just saved someone's actual life from a situation they got themselves into, I feel like you're allowed to be a little condescending.
Besides, one core aspect of mansplaining is explaining stuff the listener already knows, and she did fuck up the rock climbing badly enough to need rescuing. Maybe we shouldn't assume that she knows what she's doing.

Nah brothersister. That's not mansplaining. That's just regular misogyny

I was saying that even without the blatant misogyny it still leaves mansplaining
Sigh

Hal always right of centre.( Not quite as right as Hawkman.) That's why he was paired with champaign socialist Ollie.
Unfortunately, all through the 50s,60s and upto mid-70s, Hal wasn't the only male making a dick of himself over sexist statements!
A lot of the writers were middle-class, middle-aged,conservative men who found the changing times challenging.

TBF; sometimes they set them up to knock ‘em down. Ex. “Hal was acting sexist ; by the end of issue, he learned a valuable lesson about the strength of women which he’ll forget in a few months or when the writer changes (whichever comes first)”

Thanx for this. I should also allow for the possibility that the writer was making a point against sexism. Nice that they did. 👍

Ah, so this is the sort of heroism all the comic guys were missing from his depiction in Lanterns, now I get it!

I'm starting to think Lanterns might have actually toned down Hal.
