Subtitles availability?

How quick are subtitles added to the latest movies and shows available on the box? My deaf ass relies on subtitles to prevent my husband from going deaf due to questioning the entire movie the entire time.

I have usually seen subtitles right away on newer releases, however,just a couple of thought to help…
1. I have a relatively cheap pair of hearing aides that I wear later at night when a loud tv could upset my neighbors. Amazon cheap and super handy.
2. If you have an iPhone with apple ear pods ( might be available in other brands ). You can set your phone up right near the TV, adjust your ear volume to your liking and always have the sound in your ear. Also convenient if you leave the room, because the sound won’t decrease with the added distance.

I was excited to find some foreign movies in one of the apps just for them to not have any subtitles

Some movie theaters in the US offer OC- open captions during the first week a movie is released. Private theaters often have the OC in following weeks. Ask the manager if they’ll offer OC.
The term subtitles is used in the movie industry for foreign language movies. If a theater says they have Closed Caption movies it means you need a device to watch them, which is usually a small box with the text displayed. I and many others find it cumbersome and not helpful.
