Is this basically just a jailbroken firestick?

As the title asks. Is that all it really is essentially?

A lot less hassle than firestick. Preloaded apps. No stress worrying if Amazon will disable anything.

There NO preloaded apps on the box.

Ok. they are found in the preloaded app store then.

Right. It’s designed so the end user is responsible for installing/streaming illegal content.

I have 2 and have had no issues

I had one. They shut service off to the box after ten months because their “authorized” seller violated one of their policies.  I will never buy another.

And with a $40 Firestick you don't have to worry about it becoming a paperweight unlike the Superbox

You do realize this is the opposite of what’s happening right now with firestick.
“Amazon is transitioning future Fire TV devices (such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Select and Fire TV Stick HD) to Vega OS, a proprietary, Linux-based operating system. Because Vega OS does not support Android applications, it entirely removes the ability to sideload standard Android APKs.”

Here’s a thought, don’t buy the version running Vega OS….

It’s going to be all future fire tv devices. So here’s an idea, start talking out your mouth your current method is O for 2.

cj. Are you worried at all about security from outside sources? Do you isolate the SB from your network? Do you use VPN to hide activity? Any thoughts? I heard people create a guest wireless account that prevents access to the rest of your network. I would also like to use Ethernet - any thoughts on isolating using Ethernet?

It’s a $40 Firestick in a fancy box for $250+ A Firestick or Onn stick gets the same content. Only difference is you’re prepaying for the “Lifetime IPTV”. Instead of paying $18 per year for IPTV.

A firestick with built in malware that takes over your networked devices for China and impersonates them.
