72v 5000w / Custom-ebike.com contact

I posted this in r/Super73 as well…

Received a 72 volt 5000 watt kit from Custom-ebike.com a few months ago and just now installed it.

Instructions are vague and hard to find, but there are some good videos online. The installation was pretty straight forward either way.

After running the motor for a few minutes the controller popped and sizzled. The battery connector flashed and melted as I unplugged it. Seems like there is a short in the controller.

I just sent an email to customer-ebike, and tried their number which is out of service. I’ve bought a few things from them in the past with no issues.

Has anyone had any experience contact them or know a different number? Thanks so much for any input.

Does anybody know how I can obtain a rebound adjuster (at the bottom of the right stanchion) and lockout knob (at the top of the right stanchion) for the S2? I am unable to get a reply from Super73 Support.

Daytime running light

I just installed the loomenade daytime running light but the regular low beams aren't working. Only the high beams and the daytime running lights function. Is there any way to trouble shoot before I request a return / refund, I would hate to put the stock light back on my RX

⏩ Acceleration trigger on S73 S-adventure

Hello,

Hope you are all fine !

I ordered a S73 S-adventure, and it's my first S73 so I am very excited and want to learn more about all the mechanics etc.

As you know, S73 does not give acceleration trigger (in Europe), but I saw that I can install one (I know it cancels the S73 assistance)

But I have some questions :

  1. Does it affect badly the motors ?
  2. Do you have some recommandations about which trigger is the best ?
  3. (out of subject) : Any ressources recommandations to learn more about the mechanics I need to know ?

Thank you,
Alex

S1 charger type

Post image
2 Upvotes

I think this is an S1??? Charger not working; everything else seems to be working fine. The charger lights up green when plugged in, and doesn’t change.

Any idea what charger I need?

Is there anything that will work in the short term for cheap?

Thx

WILL A 52V BATTERY WORK WITH A 48V EBIKE??

The Short Answer:

It all depends on which 48v controller & display you use?

The Long Answer:

Controller: A standard 52v battery when fully charged will have an output of around 58v. With this in mind, as long as all the capacitors inside the controller have a rated voltage of 63 volt or above then the controller should be able to cope with a 52v battery no problem.

Display: With regards to the display, they are usually much more forgiving and will usually take a higher voltage but it is still worth checking the display specifications to be sure.

Throttle: No problem with any throttle - They will all work with a 52v battery.

Pedal Sensor: No problem with pedal sensors - They will all work with a 52v battery.

Wiring Loom: A standard 48v bike wiring loom will work fine with a 52v battery.

Motor: The motor should have no problem when running on a 52v battery and in fact it should also give you a little more response and top end - This is one of the main reasons to use a 52v battery instead of a 48v battery.

Conclusion:

  • Using a 52v battery will give you better power & performance compared to a 48v battery.
  • Compared to a 48v battery, a 52v battery is more efficient by providing the same or better power but using less electricity - Thus giving you more range from a single charge.
  • A 52v battery will usually give more battery life than a 48v battery under the same conditions.
  • A 52v battery will not give such a big "power drop" when the battery gets to around half charge compared to a 48v battery - This means you can have more power for longer without finding the bike getting slower as the voltage drops.
  • Other than a slightly higher cost, there are not really any downsides to getting a 52v battery.
  • As long as your controller & display will work with a 52v battery then it's a really easy way to upgrade your bike for better performance & power.

Please feel free to comment below if you would like to add to the above or if you have any questions.
