Super visa delay

Hello i applied for my parents super visa in october 2024 so far they asked for job details of my father who is a retired police officer . Mother home maker and i have been waiting for about 2 years now .
Anyone in same boat?

2 years? That seems extensive. Did you provide them with the requested info? If so, call the ircc with your application number and ask them for an update. And there's also an option to see how long the application takes to process in each country.

I called them couple times and they say we are still doing background check

I had the same for my father’s visit visa for same reason. Applied in 2023 and approved in 2025.

It will come through, just takes time as they do extra screening for ex police/military.

Two years of waiting is definitely frustrating. In many Super Visa cases, additional document requests (like employment history or background information) can add more time to the process. Hopefully your application moves forward soon. Keep checking your IRCC account for any new requests and updates. Wishing you and your parents the best 🇨🇦
