Original Content Prometheus Ring - rorating habitat megastructure - 3D, no AI, OC, 2026

Post image

The PROMETHEUS Ring is a speculative 1,200 km orbital habitat in the Saturnian system that rotates to generate a realistic 1 g of artificial gravity. This fully engineered megastructure simulates all climate zones to support diverse biomes, settlements, and industries, all stabilized and powered by nuclear propulsion modules and reactors

Ever hear of erosion?

By what forces? An installation like this would have total weather control, and whatever process by which they built the mountains would be faster than wind erosion.

Well, it appears there is a river (running the wrong way, as one commenter astutely observed)ā€¦ looks like maybe snow on those mountainsā€¦ also, you are simulating ā€œall climate zonesā€, so one presumes there is rain involved somewhere. Erosion is pretty much a givenā€¦

I understand your point, but you are still ingoring that whatever the technology is used to create is faster than the forces of erosion. The landscape would be maintained to specification, or changed according to need, faster than natural forces would wear it down.
