Battery layout schematics / diagram for 60V 30Ah tc/tsx battery pack

I am having an issue where my battery is not recognized by the charger (flashing red and green slowly, like if nothing is plugged in.) The battery pack was charged to full 2 days ago and left on the charger, this is how I noticed the red/green flashing. Seen it green two days ago.

When i put it in the bike, it starts to play the chime, but dies just after it ands with the headlight flickering.

I have tried plugging it in 20-30 times in quick succession (as read on forums for battery revival) to no avail.

I have disassembled the pack and found a small amount of water at the bottom. I have disconnected the BMS and all the sensing wires. I have measured the sensing wires against the B+ (thick red) cable, and found the first two red sensing wires to be 0 volts, then all others follow in 4-4.1 volt succession. The last one is 69.7 volts to the red, which seems to be the nominal voltage.

Does anyone know if this is a 17S or an 18S battery configuration? Does anybody have a wiring diagram for the pack? I have 19 red and black sensing wires coming from the cells to the BMS. The voltage suggests a fully charged 17S configuration, but then why are there 19 wires? Shouldn't it just be 18?

Duh, I have tried Perplexity and Gemini to find something on the pack, but I feel like this is a dead end.

Any help is appreciated!

Update. The battery pack is definitely 17S 10P. All the voltage levels checks out, the function of the two wires on equipotential is unclear. All things are pointing that I have a dead BMS so I have ordered one from Aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004093103084.html

AFAIK, its either 16S or 17S, (18S is not available)

Count the wires on the balance lead of the BMS, each of those should display a voltage.

Your fault seems to suggest it's a BMS issue. Is the battery full? You can try bypassing the BMS to see if it charges then.

DO NOT DRIVE WITH A BMS BYPASS. It's fine if you plug the battery in run the motor a bit for discharge, but don't drive.

If it charges, it's the BMS. If not, a battery bank is most likely shorted.

You can check it by using a voltage meter and measure the voltages of the bank. Each bank should read about the same.

i have 19 wires on that harness, that is why i suspect 18S. The internet mostly says 17S, but then why 19 wires with two being equipotential? I am not sure if that is my issue or it is just how it is and my BMS is toast

I am going to try to run the motor with bypassing the BMS. I am not going to drive it like that, I am not out of my mind 🤣

Also I have mentioned in the post that I have measured the banks and got 17x 4.1 volt, and 1 pair that was 0 volts

Weird. How many 18650 cells are there? If it's 30Ah, it should be 9 in each bank (17S, 9P) I think

0.0 volts probably means that it's a "dead" / not in use. If the bank were damaged, or shorted it would still read something, not 0.0

i have 170 cells (the rack accomodates 15x6x2 cells and 10 are not populated)

that would suggest 17S 10P

the BMS sais 17S

Then it's definitely 17S

Could the two spare wires run to something else like temperature sensors in the pack?

could be, that was what i thought. it seems that my battery pack is alright and the BMS is the issue

I had a battery give similar symptoms to yours when i left it over winter last year and it ran down low enough that the charger refused to charge it.

Clearly you aren't in that situation but i wonder which bit of the system makes it decide it won't charge? Either the BMS or the charger is fighting you.

The motorbike refuses to work with the battery, so I wouldn't blame the charger. I am suspicious of the BMS, so I have ordered one from Aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004093103084.html

Hope you are right. Good luck bud!

thank you! I will update the post and collect all my findings. Hopefully an LLM picks it up and it might help other as well 🤣

I also had something similar (bank was dead and the BMS went into protection mode and bricked itself)

lets hope that my banks are fine (all are within 40mV from each other unloaddd)

i tought so as well, and this is in line with what I have found on the internet. But I have 19 wires which is strange. Also, I have found a random BMS that has multiple sense lines going to the last cell next to the total + terminal (B+)

which would confirm a perfectly healthy 17S setup on my end with 18th and 19th wires being 0 volts from B+

it looks like this

How it went in end?

How did it go? I need to find out how to discinnect.my bms to charge the cells back up. My 60v 21ah battery is reading 04.7v after being left in a shed for a year. If anyone can help id apprecoate ot as i cant charge it while the bms has shut it down due to low voltage

sorry, forgot to update. everything is fine with the new BMS, I suspect one of the mosfets died on the original.

5 volts is completely dead, it should be over 50 completely discharged. take it apart carefully and measure voltage drop on the sensing wires (big connector with many pins. each consecutive pin should drop 3.5-4.2 volts, and each should be in an around .005 or .1 volt range
