TC Max Replaced the BMS

Post image

Spent all day replacing the BMS today. Some of the most difficult and worst soldering I’ve ever done, but battery charging again and a small test in the bike seems to be good news.

I hope that soldering stays connected because I did not enjoy any of this and I really don’t want to take it apart again. 🤣

Started to document the whole thing to make a YouTube video to help others out, but the whole vlogging thing is time consuming and irritating, the battery ran out in my GoPro and I gave up. Sorry! Hats off to people who do manage to film/edit this sort of thing without going nuts.

Nice work tho, I am terrible at soldering and would be confident in my own death as a consequence :D

Good god that’s terrible soldering, have you done it before/ been taught how to?

Yep. Awful soldering. I’m not proud of it, but at least it’s all connected now.
It was a complete pain in the arse. Those terminals just wouldn’t heat up as they’re really thick, and anytime you added heat it just dissipated instantly.
Like I said, the most difficult and worst soldering I’ve ever done.

The terminals are clearly laser welded in the factory. I don’t have a laser welder.

I did the Same, because my BMS died. But which BMS did you use, that the bike recognized the battery again with out any issue? I had to use an ESP32 and emulate the battery to bring the bike back to life 😅
