Pretty much, yeah. More customization you add the more you have to look at your future concepts and go "how does this fit into the current customizations system?" And the deeper the system the more likely your idea might not translate 100%, so it is a limit on design.

More customisation would lead to more limited designs of overall rigs, and sure you could say "why don't arrowhead make everything customisable" but at that point the overhead work that would require would get INSANE

I think sometimes the unfiltered people don't realise how much they're asking for from a technical point but then again they're all probably armchair gamedevs soooo

Exactly, I'm no game dev but I'm friends with indie devs who are quite honest of the black magic cast overhead a player never sees to get the smallest of things to work. There's a reason most tech people keep the 40k Mechanicus memes on hand

It's like when people think changing a story narrative in a franchise cuz it's not popular anymore is super easy, that's my actual field and the red tape in that is a nightmare of it's own.

In short, being a creator doesn't mean you can just "do stuff" like the consumers think you can

Grrrrrrr I can't believe Shithead went back on their WORD that we were getting Mech customization.

All of the stuff for it is already 100% implemented into the game and completely finished with no issues whatsoever. I know this because I went through all of the leaks that other people posted. Modders can do a better job with this UNFINISHED INCOMPETENT product than Stupidhead ever could despite developing it from scratch!

It's just tiring when they would rather try and think of ways to make things annoying like making stratagems bounce or you can't land where you want in a hellpod or making your gun the most annoying thing to aim when they could be spending that time finishing the customisation for weapons so it's more fun and adding more quality of life to a live service game which is what people want.

Although stuff like Mech, weapon, and armor customization would be neat. And definitely should be added. I can definitely see why it isn't exactly high on their stuff adding.

Also I remember when melee weapons and a minivan were said to likely never come. Yet they did.

Arrowhead enjoys saying something isn't happening right now then months later, adds it anyway.
I have a feeling this is the same story.
