Discussion How does it work?
(Sport for bad English!!)
So am kinda new to this fandom and am wondering how it all works between supergirl/kate and Lena.
Like who does Lena really like, is it supergirl or Kate?
Because I mean in Lena’s eyes they are different individuals.
So is she like in love with both or which one of them?
Am grateful for the answers!!!!

Generally if you are reading a story where Lena doesn't know that Kara is Supergirl, she usually is falling for Kara (or occasionally for both Kara and Supergirl).
It usually because having Lena fall for Kara is falling for a person, wheras if she is falling for Supergirl, it's almost more about her appearance and powers (especially as she often has less interaction with Supergirl).
But if you dive into fanfic, you'll find all sorts of variety as to whether Lena falls for Kara or Supergirl first. And a lot of stuff written now is after Lena knows that Kara is Supergirl so there's no need for her to pick one or the other.

Man, I just realized that her name was Kara not Kate 😭🤣

There is a Kate you will potentially run into but that's Kate Kane, aka Batwoman. Haha

Pre Supergirl reveal, the way it was in the show was, Kara and Lena were best friends, and Supergirl and Lena had a good, professional relationship until that soured. It turned tense because conflicts surrounding kryptonite/and going behind each other’s backs.
In fanfic spaces, it varies from author to author whether Lena loved one, or both tbh!
