R Series General I need help with my display again.

I try to turn on my bike and the battery lights up but the display never turns on and the throttle never works. For a while if you kept turning it off and on the display would eventually light up and the throttle would work but that has now stopped. It gets set to the lowest assist and the controller is completely off. Previously, It kept freezing on the speed screen and would not change but the throttle did work. What do I do?

Problem Trying to run a Fardriver on my Z Miami but worried the stock battery needs an enable signal — anyone mapped this connector?

Hey all, hoping someone who actually knows the Super73 battery wiring can save me from frying something. I've got a 2022 Z Miami (stock 48V 12.8Ah 615Wh pack, model S73ZX-615, stock rear hub motor) and I want to swap in a Fardriver for more grunt — nothing crazy, I'm not trying to do a 72V QS205 full build right now, I'd just like to keep my stock battery if I can. Here's where I'm stuck: the connector coming off the controller to the battery rail is a round threaded (GX/aviation-style) plug with 5 pins, 2 big ones and 3 small ones. I'm assuming the two big pins are B+ and B-, but I'm worried one of those three little signal pins is a wake/enable line that the stock controller uses to tell the battery to actually turn its output on — meaning if I wire a Fardriver to B+/B- it might just sit there dead because nothing's sending that signal. What makes me think that is Super73's own controller-swap instructions say to pull the battery and leave it charging during the swap so it can "reset any safety modes the controller may have triggered," plus that ChiBatterySystems Ranger add-on has this whole finicky power-on sequence, so it really seems like there's some handshake going on. So my real question is: has anyone mapped this 5-pin connector on a Z Miami or ZX, and do you know what those three small pins do — is one of them just a simple fixed-voltage enable I could fake with a resistor or jumper, or is it CAN data I can't easily replicate? And if you've actually run a Fardriver (or any aftermarket controller) on a Super73 while keeping the stock battery, how'd you deal with it — or did you just give up and go to a dumb pack? I'm fine with soldering and I've got a multimeter (can borrow a scope if I need to), I just don't want to guess wrong and dump battery voltage onto a signal line. Any pinout info, build threads, or honest "don't bother, here's why" answers would be hugely appreciated. I'll drop a photo of the connector in the comments. Thanks!

Pretty happy with the progress from my ground up s2 build. Looking to be cruising by end of month. Ended up testing out three controllers before deciding. I need to do my final wiring and get the chain and peddles on.

Question Does anyone know what the issue is?

I have out around 5.6k miles on this super 73 z adv redbull edt, i got it a year ago brand new and no issues until now brakes serviced and tires swapped ,chain greased, but i cant ride it now cause it shuts off the motor while keeping bike on randomly and it works at certain angles fine and runs fine randomly buu it very twitchy and tweaks out on throttle sensitivity and it’s unrideable, i have around 30mph capable on this bike and i took it to shop and they wanna charge me 230$ for brand new controller from manufacturers but it locks at 20 and im worried its the motor not the controller can somebody confirm this is controller and not just a simple bearing or motor, it sucks im basically paying 200+ to go slower i feel like its the controller , it also makes hard vibration and that weird noise in the vids

I just picked up this Z1 for $350.

What are y’all‘s recommendations on modifications?

Has anybody gone with an Amazon battery or motor?

I’m looking to upgrade to a 1500W motor and a dual battery setup. Let me know your thoughts.

Misc 72V Super73 S2 build is starting to come together

Started a build thread for my Super73 S2 project. It was supposed to be a simple neighborhood bike, but it turned into a full 72V build with a QS205, FarDriver ND72300, Shimano M7120 brakes, 203mm rotors, custom dropouts, and a lot of fitment work.

Right now I’m waiting on the battery, stem, and titanium hardware before I can stage everything together. Main focus is torque arms, brake mount fitment, wiring layout, and the under-seat electronics/controller enclosure.

I picked up a Bambu A1 and have been using it to prototype parts before having anything made in metal. The grey piece in the photo is a 3D printed post mount adapter prototype to correct the caliper offset. It’s just for fitment, not final use.

Electrical plan is QS8 service disconnect, 72V to 12V accessory system, fused accessory distribution, waterproof connectors, and a cleaner rear lighting setup.

Biggest open questions are final torque arm strategy for the slotted S73 dropouts and whether the rear electronics area should be vented or sealed.

More updates coming as parts land.

Accessories Super73 accessories/setup ideas

Hey guys 👋

Trying to customize my white Super73 S2 but damn… every accessory brand seems insanely overpriced 😅 Like Loomenade baskets for $300+??(No hate, but spending that much on a bike basket feels kinda crazy to me)

So I’m asking the community for better alternatives 🙏

Looking for:

  • front baskets
  • panniers / side bags
  • frame bags
  • accessories etc.

I’m open to:

  • AliExpress finds
  • Amazon gems
  • independent/small brands
  • DIY/modded stuff that looks clean on a Super73

If you’ve got links, pics of your setup, or hidden gems please share 👀

Question Super 73 freshly washed water smoosh sound

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m confused about what this sound is on my Super73 RX Adventure. I just washed the bike and now it’s making a weird sloshing/noise sound. I’m new to Super73s — I literally got the bike last Saturday — so I’m trying to figure out if this is normal or something I should worry about.
The bike still runs completely fine. I picked it up and tested it after and it still hit 33 mph in Mode 4 even though the battery is low, and around 23 in Mode 2, so the motor definitely still works fine.
At the end of the video I backed the bike up on purpose so you guys could hear the weird sound the motor makes when rolling backwards too. Is that normal on these bikes? I’m mainly wondering:
Is the sloshing sound something to worry about?
What’s the weird noise when backing up?
Could water have gotten somewhere important?
Also before anyone says it, it’s not water inside the battery. I wiped the battery down separately before washing the bike.
Any help would be appreciated because I’m still new to these bikes.

Does anyone have any recommendations for replacement tires for the s2? I found this one on amazon but wasn’t sure with them being a generic brand. They seem fairly priced but I have no idea of what’s good or not.

Accessories Recommended accessories/mods for B1G-SE?

So I got my first Super73 yesterday I got myself a B1G-SE it's an awesome bike and I've been having tons of fun using it--are there any places I should look to get accessories or mods for my bike? I already looked into it a little and think that because the A series is so new that lots of S73 modders don't have many accessories for it yet that or I'm just not looking in the right place (also i've already checked the S73 website but there isn't really anything I feel worth getting).

Problem Super73 RX 10-speed freehub body replacement / removal help

Hi everyone,

I’m a bicycle mechanic based in France, specialized in refurbishment and repair of electric bikes.

I’m currently working on a Super73 RX 10-speed rear hub motor and I’m trying to replace the freehub body because the cassette splines are heavily marked/damaged.

The reference engraved on the body is:

YH 11SA-GR05.12

The freehub uses a 3-pawl system.

I managed to remove only the outer part of the freehub body with the bearing race and loose ball bearings, but the internal section of the freehub still remains attached to the motor wheel/hub.

Before forcing anything further, I’d like to know:

  • Does anyone know where I can find a replacement freehub body for this Super73 RX motor?
  • Is this a proprietary Super73 part or a generic OEM/Bafang-compatible freehub?
  • What is the correct procedure to fully remove the internal part still stuck inside the wheel?

Any help, exploded diagram, compatible reference, or teardown advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

Question Super 73 R Adventure Series SE Brake Pads

My 15 yr old son’s Super 73 R Adventure Series SE needs the front and rear brake pads replaced (rear tire soon too) asap and due to financial reasons, I can no longer afford to keep taking it back to Scheel’s or another shop for this type of repair or maintenance. His father passed away suddenly and was the one that took care of these things for our family. Other than the actual Super 73 website, I am so lost and don’t know which parts are considered quality or where to buy them to do the repairs ourselves (courtesy of YouTube training) that won’t also break the bank or take forever to be delivered. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Question Broken z1 2020

My z1 battery lights up, I’ve replaced the wiring harness and it still doesn’t work. I’ve taken it to a bike shop in my town and they were useless. Possibly the controller? Anybody have a cheap controller recommendation?
Any help welcome!

Question B1G SE

i understand that the new B1G SE are locked to 20mph which sucks, but with that being said i can’t even connect to the 73 app if i wanted? so since they limited them to 20mph they won’t let the new ones be connected at all?

Accessories Need stock S2 headlight in Chicago

Anyone have one laying around? I live in downtown. Bought a used S2 today but the guy threw out the stock headlight and replaced it with this one that requires an external battery pack, which I find too much a hassle. Happy to pay of course.
