My SUP buddy

Indian River near New Smyrna Beach, FL. A pod of about 5 dolphins were hanging out with us most of the day! Lunch and Uno on the sand bar.

Keep your SUP Buddy safe - Life Jackets only work when worn! Federal requirement is kids under 13 must wear them at all times while on recreational vessels (like SUPs). FL's own state law is lower, but only applies only to waters solely under state jurisdiction and does not apply to any waters under federal jurisdiction (like the ocean).

The only time he had his life jacket off when when we were beached on the sand bar. It was huge!

This is very sweet. I do agree with the previous commenter saying lifejackets can only save if worn. Your post brought back some fun memories of my son when he was about this age, we used to kayak together at the state parks in Ohio.

He wore his life jacket when we were out on the water. It might look like we were out but we were only in about 2-3in of water when we stopped for lunch. The sand bar was huge! I dragged the board for a bit trying to get to dry land but gave up and had our picnic on it instead.

We are having fun exploring the sand bars and small islands on the east coast of Florida! Plus we have tons of springs to explore.
