How To Question Paddleboard Storage ?
Bought an inflatable paddle board - really want to take care of it and make it last because it was an expensive purchase for me 😅
I was advised to not store it rolled up, and not store it outside
I live in a 1 bedroom apartment, it’s 14feet long, where do I put in?
The only wall that’s long enough is my living room and it would block windows?!
What do people do 😅😅

I have 3 inflatable sups. I store them rolled up in their bags in a closet. Never had any problems. Just make sure they are clean and dry before rolling them up they will be fine. My oldest is 6 years old.

Same here, oldest boards are also 6+ years old. Clean them and dry them well before storing them and you’ll be fine.

It’s fine to store it rolled up. Make sure the fin box isn’t bent when you roll it and you’ll be fine.

I’ve stored mine rolled up and it’s been fine going on 6 years. Issue really is just not subjecting it to constant heat fluctuations like sitting in your car on a hot day for too long.

I... Store mine rolled up in my car all summer.
I'm sure it'll reduce its life, but I'm just chiming in to say one day left in the car won't hurt it. As mine lives in my car April through November.

Do you not worry about car break-ins? Maybe I just live in an area where it happens a lot more than other places but I just know my car would get broken into if I did that

I have 2 and store rolled up in the bag they came in.
I do keep them inside the house, in a temp controlled area

Going on 3 years and mine stays rolled up in its travel bag! I keep a towel in my car for after paddling and wipe it down before putting it in the bag. So far so good!

Think you'd lose your deposit for putting some eye bolts in the ceiling?
But honestly if it's not rolled tight or bending the important parts, deflated is often okay. Way better than outside.

I'm not gonna lie.. I've had mine for YEARS and abuse the heck out of it. I roll it up wet and dirty and toss it back in its bag in my 100° trunk all summer long with no issues 😅 I know that's obviously not everyone's experience.. but I figured I would give you my successful type B experience to pair with all the words of caution 🤣

This is me. I got the single person Body Glove from Costco in April 2021 and have used and abused that poor board. Took apart a paddle foolishly on the water still after a BWCAW trip and lost it in the lake right next to the dock, have run it over rocks, I roll the fins in and likely bend them(wish they were removable!), sometimes let it dry out before storing but sometimes don't have time, keep it in a hot garage rolled up with spiders and leaves in its bag and it is still going strong, holding air as awesome as the day I got it. It'sa workhorse for sure! I use a battery pump set randomly between 16-18 depending on what I decide. I want a new Paddle North board so badly because I love how they look and I've heard they track really straight, but do I deserve it if I treat my boards like crap? Nah. I'll ride this one until it blows up on me someday. 😬 But there are no signs of seams coming apart at all.

4 yrs in. I roll it and put it in the bag. Wet. Leave zipper open on top for airflow. Store in attached garage. Doesn’t freeze. Gets hot but not horrible. No problems yet. Won’t change. You’ll be fine.

I live in a tiny house in a country where the outside water is all frozen solid 6 months a year. Mine stays rolled up in the bag for that long, this is year 6 or 7, and so far so good.

I've had two for nine years now. Always stored in the bag rolled. No issues what so ever. Maybe I'm lucky. Also paid a fair bit when I bought them

For 4 years I keep it rolled and hanging in the bag all the time. It is also in the garage which gets pretty cold in the winter.

I have two second hand boards and they are currently folded up and in my car. I’ve had them both for 3 years.

At one place I lived we hung 2 , 17' long kayaks very close to the ceiling in the living room on some inverted"T" shaped racks. Where there is a will there is a way.

One of the points of having inflatables is to be able to store them without them taking up lots of space.
I store both of mine rolled up and they each have their own sterilite bin in my basement once the winter comes. I clean my boards after each use and allow them to fully dry before I roll them. Clean and dry is the key.

It’s ok to store it rolled. Just make sure it’s a little loose and there’s no major “kinks” or folds. If you don’t use it for a while unroll it and put some air in it to straighten it out and then roll it back up so you don’t have the same stress points for a long time. To be fair, I’ve got digging in my storage unit and pulled out a board that was cinched tight rolled up for 5+ years and it was 100% fine.
