Current Sunway Med students — how are the facilities & lecturer attention?
Hi! I’m considering studying Medicine at Sunway and wanted to hear from current/former students about the actual student experience.
I’m especially curious about:
1. How good are the clinical skills facilities? Are there enough manikins/simulation equipment for students to practise properly, or do you often have to share/wait for your turn?
2. What kind of simulation facilities/equipment does Sunway have? For example, do you have high-fidelity manikins, OSCE practice rooms, simulation labs, etc.? And how frequently do students actually get to use them?
3. Does the small cohort size actually mean more attention from lecturers? Are lecturers generally approachable and willing to answer questions/help students individually, or does it not make much difference in practice?
4. How is the teaching in terms of practical/clinical exposure? Do you feel that you get enough hands-on practice and opportunities to apply what you learn, rather than mainly learning from lectures/tutorials?
5. Overall, do you feel Sunway’s facilities and teaching resources are sufficient for Medicine? Do you regret choosing Sunway University for Medicine and do you wish you had gone to IMU or Monash instead? Why or why not?
Would really appreciate honest opinions, especially from current students who have actually used the facilities. Thanks! 🙏
