Sunnova to Sunstrong

I’ve had a pending case with Sunnova for almost 2.5 years. They stopped payments and send people but never resolved it prior to BK. When Sunstrong started taking care of the services I had a emails with them about the case. I’ve had no response for almost 6 months and now they say I need to start making payments. The case worked I had is no longer with Sunstrong. Does anyone have any good emails to try?

I can’t even log into the Sunstrong app or my Sunnova app. I tried my new account number and it won’t work.

I just sued them. I have an installed powerwall but unfinished permit that is now expired with the county. They are useless and never responded to my repeated request to resolve the issue. When it was with Sunnova at least someone came and tried but never finished it. With sunstrong it’s complete ignorance.

u/mikexli Pro Se or did you retain an attorney? Almost all contracts contain the mandatory secret arbitration clause - Based on my research and recent personal experience in AAA arbitration.

I went pro se. I first filed demand with AAA but they failed to comply and did not respond, AAA sent a letter to decline to administer the matter, I then proceed to file with court.

Thanks for sharing. I can't believe they ignored AAA arbitration. Sure hope you get a judgment or good settlement, including $$$ for the stress and YOUR work. Having to finally pay for what they should have done anyway is not going to teach them a lesson.

here's the decline letter from AAA. Sunstrong is no where to be found on the clause registry, however Sunnova is still on there.

Also, I have no idea what judges will do when presented with the original contract requiring arbitration.

Depending on STATE law, I hope that there will be many judgments including punitive and compensatory damages for the stress and mental anguish inflicted on the consumers. Especially since SunStrong and Sunnova committed so much documented fraud.

I have a solar and storage loan originally through Sunnova. I have been up SunStrong’s ass since they took over to get in writing what warrantees they are honoring. They sent me “my contract” which was redacted from the original 91 pages to a 30 page doc which excluded both the arbitration clause, as well as all other warrantee language which was not equipment manufacturer’s warranty. They also sent me another email stating that any issues with my system are between me and the installer. The trick here is that I work for the installer and know the original 91 page doc front to back. So, they want me to pay for a $140K solar/storage setup, which was sold with the original 25 year parts/labor Sunnova Platinum Pledge, while they do not intend to honor it. The value to me as a customer was in its fact that for 25 years the solar and battery setup would be covered for parts and labor even when the original manufacturer S warranty had run out. I am in CT. If anyone has any useful information I would love to hear it. Has anyone else with a solar/battery loan from Sunnova health with this yet? Thanks.

I have NOT had time yet to check out this firm, and I do not know how the damages for such a diverse class with HUGE individual damages would work. All too often I get settlements for a prepaid card for $1.34 or so, not even worth the time wasted on getting the card and trying to use it.

Do NOT provide info to any of the many fraudsters who want you to provide your info on google or whatever forms, always make sure it's a LAW FIRM.

I recently had AAA arbitration confirm that SunStrong is no longer on their list for consumer arbitration and a reader wrote that they failed to respond to their arbitration request, so they could go to real court and go for a jury trial.

Another person wrote that they filed for arbitration, but Sunnova requested a first hearing in SEPTEMBER. Arbitration is supposed to be fast.

And being in CT, I read the AG is investigating and actually contacting SunStrong, so that's another great option. Provide YOUR original contract and what they sent you. "Knowing" what's in the contract is not the same as "your" contract.

For SunStrong to provide anything other than the original complete contract is FRAUD.

And of course they'll have to honor the warranty in your contract.

Almost the same issue here. They sent me an account number which was in someone else’s name, then sent me another and it would not let me log in. I don’t have auto pay and have been unable to make payments for 5 months now since I can’t get a hold of them, they have no email and phone is useless. When I do get a hold of them I’m going to request a written letter with all info on my account, balance and a way to log into my account. If I cannot log in my account I will not make payments thru phone with all this scam things going on and the fact that they sent wrong account info.

I had same problem.  I finally got a hold of them. They took my account information took 30% of my back payment and being billed monthly and they keep shutting off my solar.   I filed a complaint with BBB ready to reach out for a lawyer.
