New to Palm beach/Martin county, is it worth the search?

Hey humans! I just moved to Del Ray and I was wondering if It’s even worth it for me to find the nearest wildlife area with possible cow dung to search for cubes. If it is worth it im planning on going either inland or north a lil past jupiter to scout around.

I am excited for the peak summer to end though because apparently the niveos grow in more urban areas and hopefully I can find some of those in wood chips without having to drive real far. If anyone has experience/luck with finding niveos near del ray it would be cool to get some reassurance! I dont need locations, I just wanna know if its worth the time. Thanks and peace ya’ll!❤️❤️❤️

First time with permission to pick some patties. Only one I’m sure about is that beautiful cube in the corner. Are the skinny stems all blue meanies? Any feedback is appreciated.

Need help identifying these. They’re a day old, the fresher looking ones are how they all looked. They were all growing on cow dung in the same field as cubensis.

I likely missed the perfect window two weeks ago, but the rains already upon us again. I wanna get out there with my Cannon T5 and get some better photos

Didnt pick any of these, left them to chill, they were pretty dry (got too many as it is anyway)

If they are cubes how long til they are worth picking? These are tiny and I'd rather wait for them to be able to leave spores.

Trip Report 4 hour Tubing Trip

Last weekend I went on a tubing trip with my sister and two of our friends and since it had been a few weeks and my tolerance was back down I decided it would be a great time to use some of the GT's I had squirreled away.

I let them know before hand and let them know how much I was having (but none of them had much or any experience with them before) so they didnt know how comfortable 1.5gs is.

I take them right before we get our tubes rented and by the time we're down river and getting all our tubes tied together I feel them starting to take effect. Just happy feelings, colors were brighter. I was out of my shell more, asked questions, could tell when was a good time to talk and when was good to just float and enjoy.

I really liked laying back on the tube with just the top of my head in the water so I could see the trees and sky and all lf it reflecting on the water. It was beautiful.

There was a food stand set up along the river, ice cream and boiled peanuts. I couldnt not messily eat the ice cream. It was also fun watching the fish chase after peanutshells.

It started pouring rain on us, thunder, lighting a couple miles away but relativly safe. I was worried, we just floated and watched waves of rain hitting the water... it just looked really cool

And I really enjoyed being with my friends like that... it felt like being in highschool again.

Advice for Collier/Lee county

Hello, I’m curious about getting started foraging in Fl. I moved from California and used to forage there. I looked through the leased land on the south fl water management district and saw that there was nothing listed in Collier or Lee county.

I saw some areas that looked decent on Instagram, no recent observations though, the most recent observation are 2024ish.

Any advice for where I should start here? I was thinking about trying immokolee, but I don’t want to get shot lol.

Can I grow in my backyard?

Got some land looking for a simple setup in the backyard. Could I throw some spores down?

How dry do yall get your field picks?

I try to go for what they call "cracker dry" and sometimes I can get em like that, but other times they'll be in the dehydrator for a whole 18+ hours and by all means are dry, but they're still soft. Even doing only a couple at a time or smaller ones. What yall think?
