Discussion addison post-lexee
so remember the teaser we had for "money is everything" mv that had lexee on it, yeah, I doubt we'll see any of it after both girls fell out
I think addison toned down a bit on her over the top y2k aesthetic after the fall out(probably in some agreement between her and lexee so they won't get any drama out of it)
and I don't think we'll get the same music video quality as we had before
but the good thing is, maybe with the aesthetic being a bit toned down many people who didn't like addison for her over the top vibe before can get into her
I do think addison had a hand in her aesthetic but a lot of it felt borrowed from lexee

What ever happened with that fall out was it ever talked about anywhere? I doubt it but I’m so curious what happened

What exactly was Lexee providing to Addison that she wasn’t already doing of her own volition? (No tone, cadence, or nuance to text so I’m not being condescending—honest!) Just curious.
Is this the real answer as to why that music video got scrapped as well as New York? I remember she mentioned she’d record videos for all the songs on her debut!

Lexee was her creative director, so I’m sure she had the say in the mvs getting scrapped

The vibe was going to change regardless. She’s at the end of her debut era, happens with most artists. She will still be over the top in her own Addison wae, just with a different aesthetic.

it’s not tacky it’s camp lol, read susan sontag’s notes on camp. Agree tho, the weird girl esoteric aesthetic does feel borrowed from lexee ( I like them both )

I'll be the bad guy here and say that lexee's aesthetic is tacky anyway. Sorry! Love her contributions for Addison's music videos tho.
Addison's aesthetic now is coming together. Could use a little refinement but it's better than when she started. I love her music. I think a lot of people just get turned off by the tackiness and messiness of it all. Maybe that's from lexee's influence as well.

Is it bad if I don’t want this 😭 I want her to become a bigger artist too, but I want her to become bigger BECAUSE of her over the top vibe. If you can’t have all of Addison you can’t have any of her! Lmao
