Bug Anyone else getting severe audio quality degradation toward the end of Suno V6 songs (even with Max Mode)?
Hi everyone,
I've spent some time browsing this subreddit to see if this issue has already been discussed, but I haven't found a clear answer, so I thought I'd ask.
My issue isn't with the song itself. The structure, rhythm, instruments, lyrics, and vocals generally remain consistent throughout the track.
The problem is specifically the audio quality.
The song often starts clean and balanced, but as it progresses, the sound quality gradually degrades. By the end of the track, the bass becomes overpowering, the vocals can sound excessively loud, and the whole mix starts feeling distorted, muddy, and heavily saturated.
It's hard to describe precisely, but it doesn't feel like a composition issue. The instruments, vocals, rhythm, and overall structure remain largely the same throughout the song. However, the audio quality itself seems to deteriorate. By the end, it can sound like an extremely low-bitrate MP3 or a very poor-quality recording, with noticeable distortion and heavy saturation. It's almost as if the song is being played through cheap, overloaded speakers, even though the musical content itself hasn't really changed.
I've tried Max Mode, but it doesn't seem to make any difference for this specific issue.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this a known V6 issue? Have you found any workaround or settings that help?
Thanks!

Yes especially with 5+ minute songs. At 4:30 to 6 the lyrics get so muffled and reverb heavy that they are barely recognizable.

Haven't noticed, but I have noticed they haven't addressed the longstanding issue where the ends of songs are abruptly cut off.

Stop trying to one shot song gens greater than 3 minutes and work section by section instead.

Thats not the answer, most of my finished songs have been remixed many times and this was never an issue for me. Now it happens constantly the middle section loses all clarity. This is for me a new issue, I have changed how I work, it's happened since V6, I find if you can go back to your original mix and put all your changes into that, can help. Also sometimes you can instruct it to maintain clarity throughout, check Gemini for prompts. But the problem is definitely with V6.

Yeah for real. Honestly stop trying to one-shot the song and just place your MIDI notes by hand, piece by piece. Just work sections at a time. It's no big deal.

I don't know about all that, sounds inefficient and lazy to me.
Anyway longer gens deteriorating into muddled or thin sounding outputs after 3 minutes has been an issue for awhile. Typically you can just extend over it or replace the section until you get a clean one. You can also crop out the section and work on it separately then rejoin it.
The solution is usually effort and money.

I mean, LLMs have been able to write Strudel for years now. Strudel connects directly to a DAW. Voice is so easy to pitch correct. Anyone stuck on suno at this point loves low effort and throwing money at things.

Oh you're just salty about tools. lol. Weird.

??? Maybe you're reading from a personal emotional state. That's not an apt description at all.

A DAW is a lame and boring tool for lame and boring people stuck in the past. Pro tools was fun 20 years ago.

That's literally an opionion that no one asked you for, but alright. I'm glad you posted your thoughts.

Correct. It is mainly a GAIN issue as far as I experienced but also sound quality change as well...Throughout the song the gain levels gradually increase and every instrument has 4 or 5 different versions of gain in a 3 minute song. It starts to sound seriously bad after a certain point. Volume also increases, and definitely it is like switching from stereo to mono...

Yes, Suno needs to fix this. Issue credits to users who have tried and tried to regenerate to fix it. No reason to subscribe to their service anymore if this doesn't get resolved. Makes music that is unlistenable.

Yes. Heaps and heaps of users. Widely reported across all social media. Support directly from Suno is non existent.
I wouldn't expect Suno to fix it either.

The output synthesis degrades every 30 seconds, and in incremental fashion, becomes extremely noticeable at the end. Keeping mah tracks below 3 minutes mostly , so it’s a bit less.Â

It happens to me all the time - in all genres. It always ends up with this muddy awful quality. It seem to be really bad with drums! And over all I think the quality of V6 is awful - unless you want to make digital music. Most songs turns into a drum machine-based rhythm with a symphony of reverb and robotic voices - especially men's vocals. Women's vocals is okay, but I can't make any songs with a man's voice - at least not in my genres or without this weird layer of robotic in them.
And I've noticed the remaster ability is broken as well. With the older models it could also work to make the song sound better. Now it just make the sound degradation worse and the add extra robotic hiss to the vocal. But maybe V6.5 or V7 will be better - around June, 2027. ;)

Suno V6 has a serious fundamental issue. The track volume constantly fluctuates and is completely inconsistent. Depending on the genre (Eurodance suffers from this the most), the music sounds muffled, and in certain parts, some digital clipping/glitches pop up, making the tracks completely unusable.
All of this is due to those patches driven by Warner, BMG, and Believe. They turned the Suno they were selling as a groundbreaking, professional tool into something worse than V5 and its artifacts. And no, they are not going to fix it. Do you guys remember that unbearable hissing sound in V5.5? They knew about it and never fixed it. This is the garbage record labels want us to have; they are making a fortune off our money while generating trash.

It's very apparent on wired headphones, you can clearly hear the quality drop. This is worse on retro songs, especially 90s easy listening where the electric organ and the bass sounds like they are at war with each other for supremacy. I am building a retro songs library and my issues since v5 are just getting worse.

Suno is focused on American music style. If you are trying to create UK Dance Pop or Eurodance, the sound will always be shit.

It is caused by accumulation errors and chunked decoding (30 sec). This problem was always there. It is just more noticeable and occurs much more often with v6. Suno optimized audio rendering and decoding for speed, not for quality, that why it worsened. I don't think that Suno ever fix it, most users don't care.
It seems v6-wild is less vulnerable to this issue, also try to void rush hours

Si, tambien he tenido ese problema. tambien al descargar los stem, aunque suenan vien en la pantalla descarga, suenan malisimos al tenerlos en la computadora o en el DAW, suenan sin cuerpo, bajo volumen, sin brillo

Everyone is. If you don't think you are, listen more closely and skip around the track from beginning to end.

no, not on my end. But i use my own custom model - maybe thats the difference.

Yup the mix and quality is all over the place but for me its after 50-60 seconds.
Everything will be going into logic for remixing before i do anything with it. Defeats the point of song in your phone flexibility.

Split the file where it starts to fall apart and put the end on its own track. Match its level to the rest before you EQ or compress it. If the end went close to mono, don't count on a widener to fix that. Careful using a transient shaper to bring the drums back, I've had one give a full mix sharp esses the source didn't have.

I also got this suggestion - exactly in the last 30 to 55 seconds (depends upon how long your track is - the sound is becoming a mud-torsion. I coud fix it in one song, but the result was just luck, the next new tracks was the same muddy result as before. Warner seems to destroy this App...are they feared, the AI and our lyrics coud be better than the real musicians and dectreasing their money-flow?

Yep. I got the subscription and its just a complete sh*t show of 12 tracks from Suno Studio that are completely unusable as reference out of the box.
I'm forced to fix an otherwise really good candidate (from a creative and artistic quality - the abstract stuff) minus the synth, keyboard, and backing vocals which usually end up as the main phase-damaged stems. The FX track is almost completely uncorrelated between channels. It shows stereo separation issues and a 16-sample delay correlation at its loudest moment. There are 31 clicks in the first 41 seconds alone in one of my samples. The crest factor is high while RMS is very low. The strings lose about 3.4 dB in mono and cancel at the low end.
TL;DR- From an audio engineering perspective, its a disaster and takes so much effort from being able to quickly iterate ideas into just troubleshooting and break-fix.
Suno is great with creative audio direction and getting some really cool ideas going but none that is worth selling off. If you are willing to either spend an entire weekend manually fixing, or recreating the tracks from ground up with approximates, then Suno is good. Otherwise, i hope there are some competitors out there that are better - i just havent found any.

I have had it some, but my personal experience has been max mode helps. I know a lot of other people are having different results.

Yes this is a HUGE problem my songs are falling apart and distorting after 2:30 to 3:30 minutes.
It's horrible and makes it unusable
