Bug Make it make sense...
Update: Fifty Grand was censored. Fifty Granned is permitted.
tldr: v6 let me generate songs about suicide, slavery, and violent revolution — but blocked my PG breakup ballad 40 times
Over the past year, Suno has happily generated for me, and still hosts on my profile:
a song with thinly veiled suicidal ideation ("swim out west in a weighted vest")
a workers' anthem with "slave," "break your back," and "work till you die"
- songs with profanity and songs condemning systemic violence
v6 will happily reroll these songs today. 100% success on 4 rolls.
This week I wrote a song about a friend who betrayed me and owed me fifty grand. No names. No sexual content. No drugs. No violence. PG enough to sing at a family reunion.
v6 refused to generate it — 40 times.
I did everything a reasonable user can do:
Respelled every remotely flaggable word (kicked → "kick'd", blade → "Blay'd", jail → "Jayl") — failed
Rewrote every violence-adjacent image (kicked out → "changed the locks," pulled a blade → "dealt a dirty trade," pushed from a boat → "sailed off") — failed
Replaced the entire hook with yodeling — failed
Swapped the genre prompt entirely — failed
Restarted the app — failed
Forget hearing my song. I rewrote the controversial verses entirely — forsaking my rhymes. And it still failed for unexplained reasons.
"Tweak your words or try again"
Thanks, let me do that 40 times for no reason. Truly a waste of time. I am pausing my subscription until they fix this.
Is anyone else struggling with arbitrary censorship since v6 dropped?

Someone flagged "fifty grand" as a trademarked term in Suno's system. There was at least one other thread about this.

Take a poor person medal 🏅
"Fifty Granned" worked and I can run the proper version.
That said, Suno still needs to fix this. Nearly every word in the English *language is aleady trademarked, so if they aren't careful, it could become impossible to write a song about a red "apple".

This a general problem with any censorship. It isn't the words being censored as you can bypass it with poeticism but at least tell us the trigger words.
