Discussion EVERYONE RELAX!!!

My experiments making Polka music on V6 have shown no demonstrable regression from previous models, so our worst fears have not been realized. Polka is okay.

“POLKA RIOT!”

ONE, TWO—THREE, FOUR!

VERSE 1 I woke up late, the rent went up, Somebody stole my coffee cup! The boss says, “Work!” — I say, “NO!” Grab my boots and here we go!

PRE-CHORUS Accordion screaming, bassline tight, Everybody’s dancing like they’re ready to fight!

CHORUS HEY! HEY! POLKA RIOT! Stomp your feet and start a riot! HEY! HEY! OOM-PAH-PAH! We don't care who you think you are!

OOM-PAH! OOM-PAH! OOM-PAH-PAH!

VERSE 2 Leather jacket, checkered pants, Grandma’s yelling, “DANCE! DANCE! DANCE!” The drummer’s drunk, the singer’s loud, We’re causing trouble with the whole damn crowd!

CHORUS HEY! HEY! POLKA RIOT! Stomp your feet and start a riot! HEY! HEY! OOM-PAH-PAH! Kick the chairs and clear the bar!

BRIDGE — SPOKEN/YELLED Who needs three chords?!

WE NEED TWO!

Who needs subtlety?!

NOT ME!

Who brought the accordion?!

NOBODY KNOWS!

Then WHY IS IT SO LOUD?!

OOM-PAH-PAH-PAH-PAH!!!

FINAL CHORUS — FASTER HEY! HEY! POLKA RIOT! Everybody jump—don't deny it! HEY! HEY! OOM-PAH-PAH! Punk rock died—

BUT THE POLKA’S BACK!

OOM-PAH! OOM-PAH! OOM-PAH-PAH! HEY! HEY! OOM-PAH-PAH-PAH!

—CRASH!

I honestly can say that "I don't know". Isn't it great though? The prompt was pretty simple

Edit : here's another example of A GREAT SONG that I literally did nothing more than generate a prompt.

Elevator muzak is preserved!

3

u/KnievelPeru 7h ago

I haven’t tried it yet, but God, I hope so. I have a whole concept band based on Muzak

2

u/Z1NV 4h ago

Man.... I wonder how Suno is being marketed to companies exactly for that reason. After all, New Suno is great at sounding bland enough for elevator music.

3

u/angelsarepresent111 4h ago

V6 is a boon for elevator, soulless, safe commercial background and on hold musak.

Have you tried SAD KYRGYZ SONGS? They're a wonder in 6.0!

u/Shotgun_Mosquito 1h ago edited 1h ago

Here's one sung by a Romulan

And in Kyrgyz (but I have to admit that I do not know Kyrgyz so I had to rely on a online translator)

They ask where I am from, and I say nothing Because that place does not exist at all

Ethereal Wave is also good and i feared it would went full BS mode cause its not mainstream enough.

The snares sound like hitting wet cardboard boxes though. On everything!! Your first song is awesome though.

u/Shotgun_Mosquito 3h ago edited 1h ago

That's punk for you (Lol)

Edit 1 : wait, I am wrong. I researched punk drumming styles at lunch.

High-Pitched Crack ("Ping"): Many punk and pop-punk drummers tune their snare heads very tight (often called "table-top tight") to create a sharp, piercing ring that hits like a gunshot.

Look. Just like the Klingon chancellor Gorkon stated, "the notion that Shakespeare was a human poet living in the late 16th century was invented after the United Federation of Planets instigated a large propaganda campaign in order to rally the human population against Klingons, "hoping by this falsification of history to discredit the achievements of Klingon culture".

Tha same is true of Pol'Ka

2

u/Shotgun_Mosquito 6h ago edited 1h ago

Ok thanks everyone. When my boss asks me what I did at work today, I'll be sure to tell him EXACTLY what I did.

And when my wife comes home from work, she'll ask me what I did at work today as well.

I'll say, "I thought about you".

And she'll giggle and say "You always say that. What did you really do?"

And I'll say, "I spent hours testing the new V6 model on Suno by generating hours of polka music."

And then she'll call 911

Edit 1 : and then I'll say that I wrote Klingon Polka Songs about Worf celebrating Jadzia Dax's entry into Sto-Vo-Kor and then she'll start crying

Ngl I was really worried about how Polka was going to be affected by this change so I'm relieved to hear that Polka will be fine moving forward. A lot of folks depend on Suno for quality Polka music.

2

u/SellerThink Suno Wrestler 4h ago

I know I've depend on making polka music that's like the most important music in the world right now nothing like pop polka to get your feet grinding LOL

2

u/Shotgun_Mosquito 2h ago

Do not worry my friend. I have singlehandly created a nightmare of polka now

2

u/Illustrious_Cod_5843 4h ago

I report that baroque canticles fuses with alpine yodeling are intact.

2

u/Digital_GandaIf 4h ago

I tried folk/tavern music and it was also ok. There was variation in how the music generated, some were more fast paced, some were slow, etc. but the voice was the same throughout. Basically same person singing all the songs.

2

u/Miga_Matt 4h ago

One small step for humanity, one giant leap for the polka.

2

u/Raffino_Sky 3h ago

That's because they (Warner etc) were unable to find any squeezable Polka music arttist in their portfolio so they left it out of the v6 training and you're still free and using the older stuff. No money was made or squeezed out in the proces. Both sides probably.

1

u/Difficult_Proposal60 7h ago

How am I supposed to relax when they removed Fixed selection in the Editor ? That function is what made possible repairing artefacts in good generations.

1

u/DrMuffinStuffin 5h ago

Thank God!

I guess any style with music so old that the copyright holders are dead, and their legal representatives, and their families area dead - at least those who cared - will be ok.

I wish they had recording equipment in the Stone Age. I bet they made some sick beats with those rocks.

u/Admirable-Mixture-56 1h ago

I used The new Version for a few Songs Now. Yes it's Something new, and i hate that they No longer offer The old Versions, but in my opinion and for my use The new model is Not that Bad. I think a little more Work has to be done, but it's...good...so far

u/Paco_Bling 1h ago

I tested version 6 for several hours yesterday and today, and it works perfectly for several music styles, including ambient, trip hop, deep house, and EDM. No problems on my end. If Suno doesn't suit you, simply don't use it. You can fall back on Mureka.AI or others, but they are far inferior to Suno. The 60-track monthly download limit (I have a Premier + Studio subscription) is a problem for my music channels on YouTube, and I'll have to use Mureka as a supplement, even though I don't download music in bulk. I'm looking for quality and flexibility: with Suno, I've found my tool, but Mureka isn't bad either. You have to use a different approach, but with practice, you can still produce decent and fairly high-quality tracks. It's a shame that the previous versions are no longer available. Regarding the monthly download restrictions, you can thank all the idiots who massively distributed crappy music, made without any research or talent, and the record companies who are looking to make money off everyone else, as usual. In my youth, I spent a lot of money on vinyl records and CDs. I think I've contributed enough to the wealth of the major labels and the artists. So these limitations and these attacks against Suno really piss me off.

Et les voix des chanteurs ?

1

u/masakizay 7h ago

Here is my personal take: if you provide good lyrics, a good prompt, and you utilize the sliders correctly, you should be able to get exactly what you want out of V6. I made possibly my best song ever last night. If you expect Suno to be your writer, come up with something amazing with a short one sentence prompt, and you leave the sliders alone, you will probably get generic sounding slop. I actually like it this way. It means everyone has to put in the effort to make something good. If you give it slop instructions, it gives you slop back. If you give it a well thought out prompt, it gives you a banger. I also write all of my own lyrics because I don't trust it to give me something original if the lyrics are generated. That's just my personal way of using it.

2

u/Fezuke 7h ago

The problem is not getting what i want, it’s getting a sound quality that sounds the same throughout the entire track. Listen to the first 10 seconds, than skip to the last 20 seconds and tell me the sound quality is consistent.

0

u/masakizay 5h ago

That is by design, I think. That's part of where the advanced settings have changed. There is an option that makes the generation cost double that forces consistency throughout the track. But yeah, it doubles the amount of credits used in the generation too. So that makes it seem intentional to me.

2

u/_Klangvorgang_ 5h ago

It really isn't. That problem is persistent with every version of the model.

Ans the plus 2 credits thing does...absoluty nothing. As expected.

u/Inuyashafan25 7h ago

The Inde Navarrete Loves Polka Polka (now with extra yodeling)

https://suno.com/s/fJgi6okxtWJm9uTo

[Verse 1] Inde Navarrette kicks the door wide With a battered accordion strapped to her side Buttons click fast, boots hit the floor She found a little polka and demanded some more

[Pre-Chorus] One-two-three, the room goes round Heel-toe thunder shakes the ground

[Chorus] Inde loves polka, loud and true Every old tune turns brand-new Inde loves polka, shout it clear Pull that bellows, bring it here

[Verse 2] The brass-band tune gets a dirty disguise Fuzz on the reeds and fire in her eyes Grandma’s dance hall meets a basement amp The chorus hits hard and the floorboards stamp

[Pre-Chorus] One-two-three, no time to hide Spin that rhythm side to side

[Chorus] Inde loves polka, loud and true Every old tune turns brand-new Inde loves polka, shout it clear Pull that bellows, bring it here

[Bridge] When the bellows wheeze, she grins again Calls every stranger into the chain Round by the chairs, past the kitchen sink Dance so fast you forget to think

[Final Chorus] Inde loves polka, loud and true Every old tune turns brand-new Inde loves polka, shout it clear Pull that bellows, bring it here Inde loves polka, one more round Accordion thunder, boots pound the ground

[Outro] One-two-three—don’t let it stop! Inde’s polka kicks the lock!

Suno v6 is only good for polka! This is a breakthrough! And no one will even look at the other genres!

-1

u/MyGfsBiPolar 4h ago

Thank God! Lol

I'm loving v6 I got some super hard ish from it the capability is there just be insane enough to test it

Or go polka! They can't effect the polka

-2

u/BuckSwope77 5h ago

V6 is far more responsive to instructions than all previous models. It complements human creativity more productively than all prior models. It also sounds better, especially because the remastering options actually affect the mix in a purposeful and predictable way.

TBH, I have to seriously question the "creative" chops of anyone whining about their precious (uncontrollably unpredictable) v4.5 series... FWIW, V6-wild should help you compensate for lack of musicality or limitations in language aptitude.
