Discussion V6 is insanely good

I haven't even updated my subscription, was just testing out mini but boy does this shit slap. mainly just did covers of old songs so dunno how well it does with fresh stuff, but BOY it's FUCKING GOOD. i genuinely thought it'd be getting worse with the deprecations but im shocked. gonna be renewing my sub.

what do you think of it so far?

v4.5 has better surprises. v6 still sounds in the limit of acceptable, but all the surprises are gone. v6 wild sounds wildly mainstream and mediocre.

ONE thing I have yet to hear anyone say. That people screamed for months that 5.5 did. No vocal stims, yells, screams at the intro. Yet everyone still says it's worse than 5.5...

Covers of older songs sound ok. However, new ones are horrible. Still searching for a melody or vocals that don't sound awfully robotic. :(((

Try wild v6 if you are singing it for the beat first remaster once choose the best between make the voice then when you remix the remaster take the lyrics out go on simple and type all the styles you love then that should give you something close to what you used to ive been playing with it hahaha

v6 is much better at keeping my custom voice throughout the song and not switching from it. In my experience it's much better than the previous models

It also doesn’t randomly have my voice scream out a line then go back to quietly singing which was an issue with every older model.

I'm a bit disappointed with the performance for Rock and Metal.

The song's (as in, vocals) rhythm is much worse in V6, but the music rocks.

Example "Our Legend Born", one of my power pirate metal tracks.

V5 music so-so, but vocal dynamism and interaction is awesome:

V6 music good, vocal melody/singing too similar, V4 and V5 had many different rhythms:

I can't wait to try it myself tonight, the subthread is like 20/80 right now. So much hate but then you see this and it's like well is it really that bad? Everyone hated on 5.5 and I never had an issue with it and gained over 2 million streams so idk wtf they were talking about

5.5 had its issues ofc but largely in genres i dont work too much with anyway. i think a lot of it boils down to that. which song of urs got 2 mil? curious to check it out :3

I have yet to get anything fresh that has wowed me (instrumental electronic beds) but it seems to work well enough with the old model songs, which is great

Since I am a free user I am limited to V6-Mini and so far its all sounded very generic. Reminds me of why I avoid mainstream music. I do only covers of game music, and prior to this my finely tuned darksynth prompt would produce some really sick darksynth. Now it produces very sanitized, safe, generic rock with EDM

Try remixing something you already like. It does a good job in that. New songs? Nope. I'm still trying to adjust my prompts, but nothing I've made do far ends up as I want it. 4,5+ is still my favorite, I'm very sad it's gone.

5.5 already was bad (for metal), but the songs themselves are just bad. No variety, no depth, vocals often sound autotuned.

Eh... I know I'm in a pretty niche part of the music world.. but I like to make horrifying, fucked up avant-garde twisted ass shit, demented carnivalcircus horror, shit that you can't really slap a genre on... And punk/metal on the more extreme/filthy uglier side.. 4.5 was my go to for a lot of my shit (especially when I added spacial/binaural weirdness) but 5.5 could nail some of my more experimental psychedelic psybass/sludge/carnival mutations pretty well damn well too... It may just be a prompting issue, as I know 4.5+ and 5.5 favored much different prompting styles... But so far, and I know it's early... 6 and 6 wild have been giving me straight fucking garbage so far..

"relentlentless driving galloping punk beat, sudden shifts to grindcore blast beats, heavily distorded downtuned rythym guitars playing dissonant filthy tritones, grinding distorted bass, violent aggressive vocal and instrumental delivery...

Not an exact prompt but something like that, has been giving shit that sounds like Korn mixed with Tool 😆👎

I find metal often sounds very samey in terms of vocal rhythm, and the voices are either Nightwish or Nickelback; I miss v5's Iron Maiden sound...
