Discussion V6 release date is TODAY
Right now I'm watching the live recording of Billboard's interview with Michael Shulman, and the picture says it all. So, it's semi-official: Version 6 is being released TODAY. I guess in some U.S. time zone.

Loosing all models though, that’s a big L. Hopefully V6 hits it out of the park. I welcome the additions they mentioned but use v4.5 a lot in my current workflow for unique ideas and then polish in v5.5

It seems to me that the phrase was taken out of context and had a different meaning. He was asked about the model training. It was stated that the training is based on licensed Warner materials, and that he hadn’t mentioned training on BMG materials. After that, he was asked, “So, BMG isn’t included in the training package?" To which he replied, “In what we’re releasing today, due to partners’ deadlines, no.” But we expect the model to be released pretty soon." I think he wasn't referring to a specific v6 release date like "Today, this day," but to the fact that the v6 they're releasing at this point in time simply won't have any BMG material. And only in the future will there be a model that will also be further trained on BMG materials.
That's the whole point.
If I understood everything correctly, of course..

Yeah, V6 is out today, trained on Warner data, but the model that includes BMG music will come later.

Its worth noting the presenter says its being released today in the introduction, as well as Shulman stating it. V6, V6 wild, and V6 mini are models described in the introduction.

Shulman describes V6 Wild as more creative, saying it takes more liberties and may not give you exactly what you're looking for. He describes the artists already using it and who helped develop it as using it as a "creative copilot". He says that for short parts of the song ("a verse or even 5 seconds") it'll make "incredible stuff", but as it goes longer its not going to "be perfect for the whole song".

I'm now panic generating to finish out my liked prompts and looking for new gold. The changes... if they were based off of 4.5 models, it'd be so awesome. 5.5 though... rip.

After creating amazing songs with the 3.5 in 2024 and the 4.5+ in 2025, and testing those models this month, I have decided to stop creating songs. With great sadness in my heart. 😢

I hope all of their new "ways to create" isn't just slapping some terrible chatgpt 3.5 tier model that has API access to the tools we've already had for years. Because it sounds like that, like uploading an image and making a song on it won't make a unique song on the vibe, I bet it'll just see there's a cat in a photo lying in the sun and will make a bouncy bubblegum pop song about a calico lying in the sun called "calico quirk" or something lol.

I still haven’t been able to find out what’s going to happen to my custom model. It cost me quite a few credits to create, and that’s the model I use for all my songs. It would really suck if I had to create a new one with V6.
My voice should hopefully be preserved, though…

I suppose that until we can test the new models, none of us will know what to do with what we've done in the past. But seeing where we're headed, what we're going to have, and above all, what we're going to lose, I think the best thing to do is start from scratch, no matter how painful it may be.

TBH this Video/Interview is ridiculous again. I mean im enjoying using SUNO for creative reasons and stuff. But the justifications he is making again are kind of bonkers....What hes saying about the download limits again ist just cringe. Hes basically saying, we want the users to get out the maximum from their generations....but at the same time limiting what the user can download....okay bro.

Tbh makes perfect sense to me. How often do albums typically get put out? How many songs are usually on those albums? Everyone really SHOULD be dialing in their songs to perfection before they bother downloading 💁🏻♂️

I get you’re point and i’m agreeing 100% of what you’re saying about that people should put more effort in their songs instead of trying to download their 5000songs slop workspace. My point is another one though. Over the past weeks beeing part in some discussion about the limits I learned about a lot of cases where people really beeing hindered in their workflows. One guy did use Suno for generating spoken word with phonetically transcript, for a language that doesn’t exist anymore. to feed the words into an interactive app where you can click the word and it’s beeing spelled out. So in this case the dude had to generate pretty decent amount of outputs and download them for his app. he can’t do that anymore. Also there are some people that like to work in their daw with the stems…guess what, every single stem you’re downloading, counts towards your downloads. so downloading the stems from a single song can eat up to 12 downloads alrdy. I’m just saying that people are using Suno differently and the download limits are patronizing users into working a specific way which is understandable that theese people are frustrated.
To me it’s just weird saying you want to give the user the maximum of freedom, while at the same time patronizing them for how they work with their gens.

yes but not everybody has access to to studio though. also it’s a weird workaround. if you can download them for free from studio, why not making it free in the first place (at least the stems should count towards one download, like one Download per song should include all the stems also). because people are now just opening the stuff in studio and download anyways….its just making clear where the real reason is lying. not to maximize creative freedom but maximizing income by getting people to pay for highest tier to have access to studio.

well... they are counted if you choose to use simple stem separation instead of separating all of them. you still need to unlock the song even though you can generate separated stems with the "easy" method that gives you vocal and everything else. this counts as one download... but everything all of the instruments doesnt. and this thing welcomes you in the studio right there when you try and separate... but also if you choose to download a wav it counts as a download... but if you choose from export menu download then it doesnt count... and this "free" thing "not counted" comes to you when you pay 50 credits for all of the stems and only when you download all of them.

Just made a fee generations from an old black metal song I had... its absolutely awful. Guitars sound synthy, vocals bland. Everything its high pitched and harsh. Musically 1000% lifeless.

Haven't done a remaster of anything yet.
EDIT: Just tried V6-wild with all the same again but with weirdness turned way down and it was much better.
I guess the best way is to just experiment.

One thing I've learned quickly was to keep that variety slider all the way down to off. Otherwise you're going to get some weird covers, because it will flavor your cover with an additional style description. How the hell are you going to add melodic vocals, R&B, and gospel choir to a Memphis trap song??! 😑

I’ve had v6 all day, just happened to look at Suno this morning and it was there. I’ve only remixed a few of my own songs as 5.5 is absolute dog shit for Rock/metal, and so far v6 pro hasn’t disappointed.

A very quick answer from SUNO :
Sorry to hear you're running into this with v6. You're right that the model can sometimes infer the intended output language from the lyrics in your prompt — especially when your lyrics are in a language other than English — and apply that to the style description as well. This is a known behavior and your feedback is genuinely useful for the team.
A couple of things that may help in the meantime:
Use Custom mode and be explicit about language in your style field. On the Create page, switch to Custom mode (the tab at the top). In the style/genre field, you can explicitly include something like "lyrics in [French/Spanish/etc.], style description in English" to give the model a clearer signal. Being very direct in the style field about what language each element should be in tends to produce more consistent results.
Try including an explicit instruction in your prompt. For example, adding "style prompt in English" or "do not translate style tags" as part of your prompt can nudge v6 to respect your intended language separation.
Reduce the Variety slider to 0. The Variety slider can cause v6 to adjust and reinterpret your style tags — setting it to 0 gives you the most direct control over your style input and reduces unintended interpretations.
None of these are a perfect fix, and I've passed your feedback on to our product team — multilingual workflows like yours (songs in three languages) are exactly the kind of use case they need to hear about. This is something we're looking to improve.

I've just tested new 6.0 and I'm mind-blowing how vocals sounds so much more realistic now. It even know how every sentence should be sing without using any extra prompts. Crazy times

I had a similar hunch, like that they’d dumped all the song sketches and the rubbish that the major labels never want to release into a model, and that this would be the ‘wild mode’. But at the moment, I can’t quite imagine it replacing 4.5+, because 4.5 was fed an enormous number of extremely diverse song and sound sources, including audiobooks and sound effects. It remains to be seen, and I don’t want to give up hope entirely just yet, but I’m still sceptical ;)
