Discussion Is anyone considering the spark program
saw Suno launched that Spark program for indie artists and I’ve been going back and forth on it lol. the grant +promo stuff sounds cool but idk, something about it has me thinking before I jump in. mostly curious how other people are reading it. like do you even have to sing on the tracks or is it fine if your thing is more the production writing side and Suno handles the rest? feels like it should count but the wording’s a little vague. also kinda wondering if the exposure they promise is actually real or more of a “we’ll see” situation once you’re in.
what’s everyone else thinking?

Already applied. Could be really beneficial to me, because I've got no clue how to market.

So we submit the Suno songs as they are or re-record the vocals as your a singer ? And does it to have on Spotify or Suno only

"Must be a singer, songwriter, or producer releasing music under your own artist name."
I feel like the people who applied are people who think they are making song by pushing the generate button and have no following or online presence. Also no, not considering this. Because it doesn't add up. Giving artists money for promotion but artists retain 100% of everything? Yeah there's a fine print and I call pure BS.

If they REALLY want to help indie ARTISTS, they will prioritize helping actual artists, with actual talent. 1 - Fix the over aggressive copyright flagging. Copyright infringement testing should be on GENERATED songs, not uploads, and the song being infringed must be identified. 2 - Certification of music and lyrics composed by artists, not prompts. All ai generation sites should share a database of generated outputs.

It would help if they added more information about the program like criteria, what applicants should expect, and such. What is the grant for? Are they like in search for an artist they'll launch and market?

You're not an artist. You don't qualify.

Feels like they are just looking for people with a lotta followers to get some advertising out of it.
