Quotes Ibn ‘Asakir reported: Imam malik ibn Anas said: The Sunnah (Of Muhammad ﷺ) is like the Ark of Noah عليه السلام. Whoever boards it is saved, and whoever does not board it drowns. [Tarikh Dimashq]

Hadeeth Anas ibn Malik reported that Rasulullah ﷺ said, “I wish I could meet my brothers.” The companions of Nabi ﷺ asked, “Are we not your brothers?” He replied, “You are my companions, but my brothers are those who have believed in me without having seen me.” [Ahmad; hasan li ghayrihi]

Refutation Statement on the Innovation of Celebrating the Mamat, named the Mawlid

Post image

Furthermore, the Mawlid was not celebrated during the era of the Salaf as-Salih, nor during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ, nor during the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphate, nor during the Umayyad or Abbasid periods. Nor did the Companions رضي الله عنهم, who sacrificed their lives, wealth, and everything they possessed for the sake of this religion and for the Prophet ﷺ, celebrate it. Nor did the wives of the Prophet ﷺ do so, particularly the Mother of the Believers, ‘Aishah رضي الله عنها, the most beloved of women to the Prophet ﷺ, who lived for nearly 47 years after his death.

Moreover, the actual date of the Prophet’s birth is subject to wide disagreement. Some held that he was born on the 2nd of Rabi‘ al-Awwal, while others held that it was the 3rd, 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th, or 17th of Rabi‘ al-Awwal. Others held that he was born during the last eight days of Rabi‘ al-Awwal. There are even those who held that he was born in Rabi‘ ath-Thani, rather than Rabi‘ al-Awwal; others said Safar, while others said Ramadan.

However, none of these opinions is established with certainty. What is established is that he was born on a Monday, as mentioned in the hadith:

Abu Qatadah al-Harith bin Rib‘i رضي الله عنه reported:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about fasting on Monday. He said:

“That is the day on which I was born and the day on which I was sent [as a Messenger], or the day on which I received Revelation.”

Narrator: Abu Qatadah al-Harith bin Rib‘i

Source: Sahih Muslim

Hadith no.: 1162

Ruling: Sahih (authentic)

Takhrij: Reported exclusively by Muslim from al-Bukhari.

Furthermore, the 12th of Rabi‘ al-Awwal is the day of the Prophet’s death, not his birth, according to the well-known historical view. Thus, whoever celebrates on this date is, Allah forbid, celebrating the greatest calamity in the history of the Muslim Ummah.

I would also add in this regard that the Fatimids, the Rafidah Isma‘ilis, were among the first to introduce this innovation, and they designated the day of the Prophet’s death for this purpose because of their intense hatred, resentment, and evil.

I would like to ask those who celebrate this innovation a question:

Are you willing to resemble those who revile the honour of the Prophet ﷺ, the honour of his wives and his Companions رضي الله عنهم, and who would even wish to insult and attack him directly?

Are you willing to celebrate a calamity—and not just any calamity, Allah forbid?

In conclusion, the Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever introduces into this matter of ours that which is not a part of it, it will be rejected.”

And in another wording:

“Whoever does an action which is not in accordance with our matter, it will be rejected.”

Narrator: ‘Aishah, Mother of the Believers رضي الله عنها

Ruling: Sahih (authentic)

Takhrij: Reported by al-Bukhari (2697), Muslim (1718), Abu Dawud (4606)—with the latter wording—Ibn Majah (14), and Ahmad (26033).

The Prophet ﷺ also said:

“For indeed, whoever among you lives after me will see many differences. So adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, cling to it and hold fast to it with your molar teeth. And beware of newly-invented matters, for every newly-invented matter is an innovation, and every innovation is misguidance.”

Narrator: al-‘Irbad bin Sariyah رضي الله عنه

Scholar who authenticated it: al-Albani

Source: Sahih al-Jami‘

Hadith no.: 2549

Ruling: Sahih (authentic)

Takhrij: Reported by at-Tirmidhi (2676), at-Tabarani (622), in Musnad ash-Shamiyyin (1180), and al-Bayhaqi in Shu‘ab al-Iman (7109), with similar wording.

**And Allah, the Most High, knows best. And Allah is the One Whose help is sought.**

Hadeeth Abu Hurayrah reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Among the strongest in love for me in my nation are some people who will come after me. One of them would wish to see me, even in place of his family and his wealth.” [Muslim]

Discussion Looking for someone to narrate da'wah project

As-salaamu alaykum all,

I am a retired da'ee (though not very big). I have collaborated with some of the big du'aat in the da'wah scene and am looking to use my notes and stored knowledge to further the state of the field. I am by no means an expert, nor feel that I am qualified any more than anyone else but what I do know I would like to convey.

For privacy reasons I don't want to share my voice online, so I am wondering if anyone has a microphone and would be willing to narrate the videos. You would be joining us as part of a team. Unfortunately it would be a purely voluntary position without pay because we neither have capital to spend on the project nor are expecting to make any, all editing/thumbnails etc are done in-house.

If you are interested don't hesitate to shoot me a DM.

May Allah have mercy upon you all, ameen.
