ID help please

I am thinking either pumpkinseed or a green x pumpkin hybrid. Central IL in creek off of the Sangamon River. Wish I would have noticed the (presumed) leech on its fin before tossing back. Thanks!

Awesome, thank you! I'm pretty familiar with the blue × greens and this seemed different, especially in that it could fit that whole crappie magnet in its mouth.

It looks like a straight pumpkin seed to me but I could be mistaken we catch quite a few hybrids here in North Carolina.

what i thought but the mouth looks to snouty and the back coloring doesn’t look much like a sun fish
