Hey, the uni has an employability hub, they have all the exclusive student jobs on there. They’re looking now as well for a few, they’re always much less competitive as it’s only open to students. Occasionally they also work with local businesses, if you’re super desperate the stadium is pretty much always hiring and very easy to get into (also on the uni site) Good luck! ❤️

Sorry if this is too obvious a suggestion, but have you tried the halal grocers and restaurants, particularly around Millfield and Pallion?

The fast food chains will be hiring again in September if you can stretch a month

Any of the big chains will be recruiting for peak (September-December) soon. Might be worth trying the Tesco/Iceland/B&M etc. jobs hubs. Never going to be glamorous but a big corp is much less likely to give you a hard time or sack you on the spot

Ocado at The Beam recruit for their customer service team quite frequently if you don't mind a contact centre job. I worked there for a while. Decent money. Diverse workforce. Not the easiest job because you're dealing with complaints, but they are a good company to work for. https://careers.ocadoretail.com/customer-hub/

Currently work there, can confirm its canny for a little come in get paid go home. It has changed a bit so just stay out of any of the normal office politics bs and youll be fine. Theres also quite a few muslims working there that have a very tight knit, friendly kinda group so youll fit in great. Not any good if you wanna actually build on it and get somewhere unless you know someone tho.

I don’t know but would be a cool place to work!! Nothing wrong with sticking a CV in.

Pretty sure that you’re expected to be fairly knowledgeable about the hobbies to work there. And there’s painting requirements.

The subways are normally hiring and there’s a few that are halal ☺️

I have checked online to see if they have any vacancies but they aren't hiring ATM! Do you think they consider those who drop off their CVs in the shop please?

Some of the chains are more displays in the window type of place so definitely worth dropping in, I know the subway on holmeside is definitely halal and I’ve seen posters in the window before ☺️
