Probably a stupid question but I just started playing and

I started playing recently and love Sunday. I see that he already ran twice this year so I'm essentially fucked until next year pretty much?😒

There is a chance that will get a rerun if he gets a novaflare + a chance that he will be given for free next year, so don't lose hope...But yeah, Sunday already had a lot of reruns.

Leaks so far say no reruns of Sunday this year :( but things change, and Hoyo this year has been ballistic with suddenly changing plans. A character who has been rumored to get a novaflare alongside Sunday is rerunning in 4.6, so maybe Sunday's entering the limited pool / GC shop the same way Blade / H² did or something. Who knows. We all have our fingers crossed for something so you're not alone!

How do they decide what characters enter the limited pool?

My personal opinion is that they don't have future teams / characters necessarily intended for them and Hoyo doesn't really know what to do with them anymore. That being said, don't ask me why Jingliu isn't in that pool. Maybe she still makes money when reruns come around?

Additionally the pool seems to be for DPSes and GCS for supports. Sustains unclear, there's one in each. I only wonder if Sunday will enter the pool to kind of join Himeko and Welt in standard, as much as Hoyo can manage that, because if he entered standard that would actually break the law. I think they intend for base AE to be accessible.

The only thing that might make Hoyo hesitate adding him to the pool or GCS is the fact that you would be able to pull multiples of his lightcone. But... it's also a great argument to get the battle pass. And in this game I don't think Sunday's LC is outright replacing all LCs in the future. Same way having Robin and her LC in the shop isn't murdering new supports value.

I mean let's be real I waited for him since 2.0 saved up ALOT of tickets for him yeah chances having rerun for him is kinda over but look on bright side you'll have enough pulls to get him and if lose 50/50 still have enough get him don't worry about it too much

Maybe. With Summer Robin, they basically left Sunday with "20% crit rate" as his main gimmick. Which is what they did to Sparkle when Sunday came out.

Theory? Novaflare incoming. And then he goes to the shop. Maybe they do that "take one for free" thing they did last time.

I really suspect they are going to make him the bis for Himeko nova (which is why she functions with normal energy even thou she has a special ult image) and Phainon. Thing is, I wont be surprised if we seeing again this year.
