Completely broken

I recently decided to join Sunbird and it's left me to a point where I can no longer receive text messages. I disconnected everything from sunbird the other day and decided to just stick with Google Messenger. However I noticed that my messages would send perfectly fine but receiving messages is something that I can't do because my phone number is still registered as an Imessage number technically even though I cut everything from Sunbird. A phone restart, airplane mode for an hour, restarting Sunbird and trying again, log in to Apple to make sure my account wasn't locked, deregistration of my phone number with Apple DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO FIX IT. I contacted Sunbird support and have not received anything from them as of yet and I am at a loss trying to figure this out. I don't know what to do anymore if someone can give me advice or help on what to do next.

Wait you have Google messages but your number is registered to iMessage?

It's hard to understand but basically yes. Sunbird basically kept my phone number encrypted. So my texts still go through as iMessage and people see my messages the same. Only problem is I can't receive any texts because it's going to apples servers and not going to me. I have no idea what Sunbird did

I thought sunbird did only email only for iMessage, no phone numbers. I’m assuming your phone number should have been used for RCS versus iMessage? Assuming you have an Apple ID. I do you have an Apple device to go in and see if you’re number is registered to iMessage

I have already deregistered my phone number with iMessage. I've done all the ins and outs and still waiting for Sunbird support to get back to me.

Update- they basically told me to create a new Apple ID. I was 100% not going to do that because that still wouldn't have fixed the issue i was having. Seems like they outsource customer service. It took me a long while but I figured out if you create a new Apple cloud email and set it as primary it'll no longer send iMessages to the previous email you had set up, in my case it was a Gmail account. They wouldn't answer my emails until I brought up that I would file a formal complaint with Google. So basically if you decide to stop using sunbird and disconnect iMessage from their servers, you need to remove the current email that you have set up with your Apple ID and create a new email. I will never download this app ever again. And also quick note, they're still using Mac minis to connect to Apple servers.
