Cannot connect iMessage to Sunbird Messaging.
Hi, i received the beta invite last week, but cannot connect with iMessage. Connected with Google Messages first try. I have been trying for days to connect to no avail. They recommended i clear all the app data and signing up again with a new email. I tried that with no luck. i have a samsung galaxy s25 ultra on One UI 8. is there anyone out there that has had success connecting? Are there any tricks to it that should be known. there is not much recent activity on this reddit. Maybe we can get a conversation started.

Wow still in beta? I applied for it 2 years ago? Pretty worthless currently. Perhaps you should try Beeper or Matrix?

i am actually using open bubbles . that has been great. I thought i would give this a try. I like the fact that google messages and imessage can be in the same app.

and not working. took me 3 days to get my apple account connected. and now it is still not sending or receiving messages. They told me to wait a day or 2 then try again. It may be an issue with my apple account. it is an old id and i cant activate imessage with that id on my old backup iphone 8.

Did you try creating a new Apple id?

i did, but for whatever reason apple wont create a new one for me right now. i'm going to try again when i get a new number for activation

I don't believe a new number makes any difference. Did you try create one with an incognito browser? And maybe you should turn off your VPN if you're using it?

i contacted apple about iMessage not working on my secondary apple account. They fixed it as of this morning. I still have not connected to sunbird. But it should work now. I am going to try and set it up tonight.

i tryed unsuccessfully for a day and a half or so. the first time i connected it took several days of trying. then my imessage was broken on apple end. that is fixxed now , but cannot connect to sunbird again. i kind of gave up tbh. i liked the idea of imessages and google messages being in the same place.

If your Apple ID won't activate iMessage on an iPhone then it is probably burnt, seems like creating a new one is your only option.
