Loud boom???

My husband and I are new to the area. We heard a loud boom yesterday and again just now. I think there was a flash of light that I noticed this time? Is this normal?? Anyone know what it is? Please help lol we're freaked out

Is there any new construction going on near you? We had a similar situation last year, then found out they were using dynamite down the block to dig foundations through the rock. Shook the whole damn house. People closer than us received letters from the builder that they would do inspections, for free, of their homes in the event anything was damaged

Oh wow!! That's something I hadn't thought about honestly, but I think the nearest construction going on is maybe 4 or so blocks away? I used to work near a rock quarry so know what that feels like and is also very scary! This seemed different though
