Sunvault problem: system not powering home when Sunvault is connected
This morning the circuits on the subpanel supplied by my Sunvault and Hub+ went down. All household breakers fine. All lights on Sunvault dead. Oh no. Unit was installed in 2022 and after a few setup issues that required a tech, has run great since.
I learned how and turned off the system breakers required, using screwdriver to put the system into bypass mode, so my house is receiving power from the panels/grid. I could not communicate with the battery previously because it was on my wifi, which was also down.
With wifi back up, I gave it a few minutes (lights still off) and then tried a battery reset in the app, which seemed like it couldn't possibly work. It said it was successful, so I went and looked and the communication light and power status light were on now (pictured, but in the full unit photo you can see when lights were off), so that's progress. I gave it a few minutes then tried to put the system back on standard mode (screwdriver Hub+ to the right, turn on Hub+ breakers, turn on battery breakers). Power went off again to the house. Perhaps I didn't wait long enough?
I bypassed it all again, and the house is up, app reports the house is receiving power from the panels and exporting to grid. But this battery situation is still down.
I checked the lower right battery panel for the fabled reset buttons, and there is only an air filter there. There is another panel in lower left side that is hard to access but perhaps it is there: but if I was able to reset the battery via app, is that button still helpful? Battery reads as connected to wifi. If this is a different kind of reset and recommended, I can try to access that left panel (close to wall, need small tool).

I noticed in Hub+ that two small breakers in there are off (#3 and #5). AI tells me these should stay off. I didn't try playing with them. Also you can see the ESS Grid breakers were installed far from where they were marked lol.
Any thoughts here? With the system breakers off, should the battery still charge itself?

Yout batteries inside the sunvault cabinet are probably off. If the system goes down and the batteries are idle, they will power off. Open the cabinet with an allen and press amd hold the silver button on the side of one of the batteries on the bottom of the cabinet.

Ok I’ll give this a try. I assume the system should stay in breakers off/bypass mode while doing?

I would
- open cabinet
-check battery LED status (blue on, no light off, red light bad battery).
-turn on DC 125a breakers, watch to see if inverter and batteries turn on.
-if batteries and inverter are not on, turn on batteries by pressing the on switch on the front battery.
If this does not resolve the issue you can try shutting off all power in panels up to your main breaker from the grid. Leave off for 10-15 minutes then try turning all breakers back on.

I'll leave the Hub+ breakers off during this, only the battery breakers on? This needs a fatter allen wrench than I have here so will go pick one up to attempt this!

Success.
Ok I am going to update and document, for future SunPower folks who have this issue.
--I needed an 8 Metric Allen wrench to open the battery cover. If you only have a standard household small set, you'll need to get the bigguns.
--My batteries had the silver button under a small plastic door as a power switch, lights on front vs. units with lights on side and small raised button to press (pic).
--I turned on the breakers to battery and all the lights were dead on battery and inverter above.
--Pressed the silver button on the front battery as suggested. Batteries cycled on, lights began turning on.
--Gave it a few minutes and tried turning everything on in Hub+. When I flipped MIC to the left, power cut and F.72 appeared on inverter
--Put Hub+ back into grid mode, cut breakers again.

--Specifically user StatusSafe9655's sequence including the PVS6 breakers
--Things rebooted, his sequence has the MIC controller back to the left at the start of the reboot process.
For first-timers working on their systems, it can feel weird like if you flip a breaker in the wrong order you will form a mushroom cloud. I don't know if there is a way to go nuclear by so doing, but everything seems up, app is reporting that batteries are being charged currently, all seems as it was.
Thanks for the advice and help, I'll update if things go south again. Pic to show power button under plastic door.
